Hello, I am looking at buying this diamond as a gift, what should I pay for it? Just a ballpark is ok - GIA report - "5231424217" - any idea what a resale price would be? Im trying to decided what the downside is on this large or a purchase
Have you seen this diamond in person? What would the return policy be if you don't love it? Are you potentially getting this from a private seller, a dealer, a luxury store, or somewhere else?
Here's the report, I didn't see a video on Loupe360:
A 10 carat fancy yellow without knowing the price would be a significant purchase.
Unless you are buying at wholesale you are paying retail which will include the sellers profit margin plus various taxes.
Reselling such a large diamond in the secondary market will be very difficult. Firstly there won’t be many buyers in that price range and virtually all selling avenues will cost you money ie auction or consignment.
Most people who resell their diamonds lose money, up to 40% of the original purchase price.

Wow! The finger picture looked like a stone with strong fluorescence. Lot of brown in the picture. Sometimes a Stong Blue FIY has that sort of look. Extremely undesirable.
I have seen many cases of pictures not accurately representing the color of yellow diamonds.
In terms of selling price …… just curious how the price was made public.
There’s no resale price on diamonds which have been purchased retail - or wholesale for that matter. That’s the downside.
If the money isn’t an issue and the stone pleases the buyer, all good!
If there’s any thought whatsoever about “investing” huge red flags should be raised.
Natural ( non man made diamonds) have lost a lot of value due to the prominence of lab diamonds.
It’s possible ( likely imo) that decline will continue.
Best of luck!!
