Hello all!
My husband and I have ordered my upgrade ring (woohoo) and waiting for it to arrive from Diamonds Direct. It is a 3 stone with a 1.76 center oval flanked by .32 pears. Photo Below.

apologies for bad lighting, it is a spectacular E color not well represented in the pic!

Anyways. On to my question! I am going to purchase a new wedding band and choosing from I.D. jewelry. There are two five stone rings I like, one is 1 ct making each stone .15 or half the size of my pears. Or a 1.25 with .25 carat stones which is much closer to my .32 side pears. I am also considering a 1 or 1.4 carat 7 stone.

I’m kind of a “bigger is better” gal plus I have size ten fingers. Wondering if the .25 size stones would look too large with my new ring and if I should go with the .15 ?

thoughts?

I'm thinking maybe you won't get enough finger coverage with a 5 stone. That's the dilemma I'm having with size 7.5 fingers so I'm getting a 7 stone ring made that's around 20 pointers each. So my vote is for the 1.4ctw 7 stone band.

That is a great point! I was worried about finger coverage as well :cool2:

What does everyone think about the 1.4 ct 7 stone vs. 1.05 ct 7 stone? stone weight on 1.40 band would be .20 , stone weight on 1.05 ct would be .15

Beautiful oval and proportions with your sides. I like the idea of a 7 stone with 0.20 stones. I wouldn't want to overpower the graceful curves of the pears. I
would want to have the band extend beyond the tips of the pears in a fluid way so that the oval to pear to outside diamond on the band 'line' is a smooth one.

Edit: unless you want your band to look like an eternity? In which case would a 9 stone be an option?

I personally would not order anything until you get your new engagement ring and get the opportunity to try on some bands with it.
I'm thinking .15 or .20s in either 7 or 9 to give you the finger coverage you need.

Edit...while you may like bigger and think bigger is better sometimes when you put large stones next to your engagement ring it can make
your center stone appear not as large as it seems like it should...not sure if that makes sense.

This is my 7 stone with 20 pointers on size 7 finger from ID Jewelry.

Oh perhaps you are right! *off to look at 9 stone options*

Wow! Gorgeous ring! I agree I’m going to have to go with 7 or 9!

I know you are looking for something bigger, but the larger band in my avatar pic is a custom .84ctw (.12ct each) 7 stone band from IDJ. Ring size is 5.75, but IDJ suggested sizing up and adding sizing beads to prevent spinning which has worked out great. GL

Beautiful!!

Thanks. :). I have basically no ability to take a good picture of my own hand, so really impressed with everyone else’s skill.

wow, the oval center stone and the side stones look perfect together! congrats!!!

Hi Everyone! I ended up ordering the 1.4 carat 7 stone band! And wow the customer service is amazing. Very pleased. Thanks all!

I'm getting a similar WB, can you share what the measurements are for your oval? Lol I'm having second thoughts about my WB overpowering my upgrade ER.
