i found this on James Allen, i was wondering if this will be a good buy.

The rep said:
"It looks fantastic, featuring lots of red coloration, telling us it has strong brilliance. In addition to being bright, it's beautifully cut, eye clean, and white in color. Let me know if you have any questions"

Here's a idealscope image:

Good scope image for sure. Looks like a winner.

Only thing some people might not like is the slightly shallow crown.

@rockysalamander correct the price is $12,980 vs the one you recommended is $12,300

Other difference is the the LAB one is GIA & other one is AGS. Will these two lab affect decision

Sight unseen within ideal parameters, I'd take a AGS000 over GIAXXX every time. On cut, AGS000 is stricter and since cut is most of the battle, I like that strictness. The IS between these are pretty similar. But the visual difference is very clear. I prefer chubby arrows, higher contrast and the combo of angles of the one I posted. FWIW I'd make the same choice if the one I recommended was more expensive.

Both labs are excellent, but an AGS Ideal will have a cut you wouldn't have to question for light return. That's the one I'd go with. The one you chose looks good too though.

Your selection falls into the 60/60 stone camp. I had one and loved it. But am looking forward to a more fiery stone in my upgrade. There are lots of 60/60 posts here to search for if you would like to do some research.

YAY!

On the setting. I can see three options.
1) Buy the least expensive simple solitaire for the proposal (presentation solitaire, see below). Then, let her work with you to choose the perfect ering. I always like this option unless your girl has said -- I want this exact setting in this metal.
2) Buy her the WF version of that ring you posted. However, I don't actually recommend this. That ring looks good but is not really wearable or stack-able. So, she can't really wear a wedding band. That may be fine or she may not be aware of those issues. It would be good for her to be sure of the style.
3) Buy her a version of that ring that is simpler and more wearable. I'd only do this if you were sure that her and your taste are similar on this point. This is a semi-expensive risk if she ends up not liking the ring.
4) Involve her in the setting choice.

Simplier, single shank. https://www.jamesallen.com/engageme...-edge-pave-diamond-engagement-ring-item-49492

JA more wearable version (still will be hard to find a wedding band).

Ah. The IS on the second diamond is fine. The difference here is not the H&A, but the fact that that second stone is a 60/60 stone. It will return more white light than rainbow fire. I like 60/60 stones and this one has good performance and is spready for its weight. So, you gain nearly 0.5 mm in size. That is a significant size increase. The other differences is that the second stone is that it was a prominent culet and skinny arrows. The arrows will decrease the contrast. The large culet is a style thing.

If size is your goal...grab that second stone.

i actually like the look of the criss cross setting with a straight band. However, i would make sure she has considered how the wedding band will look with that specific setting. like this:

Alternatively, she likes the criss cross look, what about incorporating that in the wedding band instead? And if you are ok discussing this with her and including her in the process, mention this possibly a pave band solitaire with a criss cross band like this: https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1359/2701/products/FullSizeRender_24.jpg?v=1506208700 or this https://www-static.weddingbee.com/pics/326172/reeds_1i.JPG

Gabriel NY has a similar setting but remember that instead of a single row of pave, there are two and a halo which means more diamonds which means more $$$$

Yup, I agree. I had a very large-for-its-weight (aka spready) 60/60 1.7 carat diamond. It faced up like a 1.85. It was just as sparkly as another ideal cut stone, it just lacked colorful flashes. They were mostly white. If you don't care about that (which, I didn't), then it's a good price for a well cut, large diamond.

@farrahlyn thanks for pictures and input it was it will definitely for useful !
thanks! i will highly consider that 60/60 2 carat.

What about the color. While this is a diamond is color J VV2, i see another diamond that's H color VS1 for a slimier price, IS images looks good and assuming the the Cs are the same. Which one will you guys pick ?

H Vs1 for me personally contingent on seeing stone. Look at the spread in mm...weight on carats may not be different, but that 60/60 likely faces up bigger. The right halo or setting can make a J hard to detect.
