Hi there,

I need help and would love some insight. I have found a stone. I think it "looks" ok as far as the cert and the image goes. But I haven't seen it in person before I buy and I won't be able to.

Here are the specs:

1.80
G
SI1
Triple Excellent
No Fluorescence

I attached a magnified pic of the diamond as well as posted the link to see the cert:

There is a small cluster of crystals off to the bezel.

Does this seem like a "nice" stone? I know Nice is relative BUT for the size/dimensions/inclusions/price is it a good stone? Or should I keep looking?

Thanks to anyone who has any input!

Violette

anyone??

HCA gives it a 4 using angles and 4.9 using percentages.

Falls into the steep-deep category because it has both steep crown and pavilion angles. I'd bet there would be light leakage in this stone. Personally, I would keep looking!

I don't like it, either. It actually looks like light is leaking out of the pavilion pretty badly.

I saw that on the HCA after I found the stone...I guess I just really had my heart on finally getting my stone so I tried to overlook this aspect of it. But this is too big of an investment for me to overlook.

Thanks Julien for your input!

@MissGotRocks
I love your pieces! They are some of my favorite on here. I appreciate your feedback!

@Smiligan
Thank you as well. You have confirmed my fear with this stone. and the search continues...

Thank you so much for your suggestions. I appreciate this a lot.

What I should have stated before is I am having my stone (where ever I may find it!) set in a Tacori 2620 platinum setting. Tacori uses F/G melee in their settings so I was hoping for a G or H. I'm afraid an I will have too much color to it compared to the small, bright white stones. I know some people favor the contrast but I am hoping to get a closer match. I'm hoping to stay at a G or H. I'm going to look more into what you sent. Thanks again!

what's your budget?

The last one I sent you is a G, but even an H would be ok. The I I posted (the 2.02) has faint fluorescence so it will appear a shade lighter.

julieN:
The budget is 17500

I'm hoping for g/h triple x around 1.8 or so

Since GOG carries Tacori and makes awesome videos, I might contact them.

Whiteflash has an H 1.7 ACA in your price range.

If you do end up going with GOG, they have this diamond for 19k, but they may be willing to bring the price down on it since you may get the setting from them (they have tacori as JulieN pointed out).

Also, make sure it's eye clean.

my jeweler here said she would get the diamond for me and price match it, so that way i can even look at it, great deal! hopefully it looks good in person, been looking for a month now
