Hi -
I posted about this particular diamond a couple weeks ago seeking general feedback. I now have a specific question/concern about he diamond’s 33 degree crown angle and it’s impact on fire. The HCA score is .7 but I realize that’s not a selection tool. I’ve attached the link to GIA certificate and a photo of the diamond set (probably not helpful) along with the ASET. I’m anxiously awaiting it’s arrival. I have 30 days to return but truly I’m hoping it’s a keeper. Your feedback is greatly appreciated! I think you'll need a video of the diamond moving to evaluate the fire.

Looks like a lovely diamond. The easiest way to see if you'll notice a difference is to take your ring to a HoF store and compare to one of their diamonds in a variety of lighting environments.

I have a video and would love to post but couldn’t attach. The video shows the ring slowly spinning and not much fire at all - ughhh I’m hoping that it’s due to lighting situation.

If you don't see fire in that video I'd say it's a bad sign. Vendor videos are usually lit in a extremely diamond-friendly way to show maximum fire.

It will likely look much worse IRL when it comes to fire.

Lack of fire in a video does not mean the stone doesn't have fire.

This very much depends on camera setting and lighting environment.

This stone should have lots of fire.

Look at JA type videos compared to WF type videos which favour fire.

True. I was going off the assumption that most vendors have a strong interest in ensuring the most flattering lighting conditions for photos/videos to showcase their wares.

The video was taken at my request once they set the diamond just prior to shipping the completed ring. Perhaps not too much emphasis on optimal lighting since it was simply for that purpose and not to promote/showcase the stone? I guess I’ll know for sure once I see in person.

It should be a lovely, bright stone. Fire is not evident in all lighting environments so I would wait to get the ring to make an assessment.

I had (still have 1) two 60/60 stones with similar crown angles, and while fire wasn't as insane as my ACA, it was still there. Try not to panic and just make sure you try it out in lots of lighting conditions.

With the two above ladies, wait till you see it to judge would be best.
