Is your question specifically about the the price of the stone or do you also want to know a bit about how this stone may perform compared to some others with slightly different proportions?

edit: oh, and what is the ct weight and stats of the first stone? Is it also 1.7 E VS? VS1 or VS2?

Hmm, I thought that the Canadian dollar was stronger than that right now. :(( It does appear to be a fair price for the stone.

This particular stone will likely display lots of white light with fewer flashes of colored light. It's considered a 60/60 type stone, some people love them because they either like lots of white flashes of light or they like that they appear to be a bit larger than more TIC type ideal cuts, which tend to be more popular on this board and which has slightly smaller tables, higher crowns and produce a nice combination of both colored and white light return. Do you have preference on which personality type you like?

You are also paying a premium for the E color. Some people love the purity that a DEF stone offers, some people...dare I say most people can't detect color differences until they reach the G/H range. If you would like to either save some money, or go larger in ct weight, this might be an area you would like to consider. G/H and VS2/SI1 offer the best value in my opinion and still gives you a very high quality stone.

Thanks Christina

basically i will try to research more and will order online via bluenile canada . basically the salesman lied straight to my face by saying the stone is from india but it is clearly in the US and the markup is ridiculous as well

Very pretty stone. I agree it, you should certainly consider it especially if you are comfortable considering other color grades. An H will face up nice and white! And over 2cts!!

Sweet find, msop!

The only reason it's not a triple-0 is the 1 (Excellent) for polish, which is by far the least important cut parameter.
