Hi, I would like to know what I should sell this ring for.

Wholesaler offering me $7000.

GIA # 12284223

Carat = 1.67
Measurements = 7.64 - 7.72 x 4.71 mm
Color grade = I
Clarity grade = SI2
Depth = 61.3%
Table = 58%
Gridle: thin to medium, faceted.
Polish = very good
Symmetry = very good

It is set on a platinum band.

I bought it for $6000 in 2001. Appraised and insured for $15000.

I am thinking about selling this but would love to learn more about how much its worth.

Thank you in advance

If you bought it for $6000 and you are being offered $7000 I think you are pretty lucky to get that much. Diamonds have gone up a lot, but it takes a few years, usually, to get at least your purchase price back when selling second hand. But you can do a search on here and see what similar stones are selling for under the Resources tab, Diamond Search. Obviously those will be retail prices and will be higher than the $7000, but it might give you some bargaining power to know how much he can sell the diamond for now.

Thank you for the reply!

How do the stats of this stone rack up?

Is the clarity good? color? is it a "top of the line, mid grade, poor" stone?

I'm sorry for the ignorance, but all those different values have me confused.

hard to tell about stats, this stone was sent to GIA before GIA started issuing cut grade.

$7,000 from a dealer is an outstanding offer and you should grab it if you want to sell the diamond. Don't think about it too long or you may not ever get another offer so high.

Run, do not walk to that dealer and then run to the bank with your $7,000. A thousand dollar profit is amazing for that ring.
