I am a newbie to this forum. Just paid a deposit USD4k for a 1.63 FSI2 diamond on a local shop. Is it a good deal? It costs USD14.5k. According to my own view, it is a eye clean stone with a 8 inches distance. Looking for advice. Thx.

He means check if the stone goes dark in the center in some lighting. basically just take the stone into lots of different lighitng to make sure ti looks good in all, has a nice even distribution of light and dark accross the face of the stone and not large dark areas.

Price seems OK, I would rather have a G/H Si1 than an F Si2, though.

Thanks again. Will take the stone tomorrow and post out the result. Actually, I was targeted to by a SI1 stone. Interested in this SI2 because it seems eye clean to me and have good cut with high HCA score.

If it is eye clean to your standards there is nothing wrong with an SI2! I simply prefer a different balance of color/clarity myself.
