My new engagement ring. The setting is a temp, though the most beautiful temp ever. Caysie sourced the stone for me. It's a GIA J Si2 circular brilliant. The setting is CVBs jovyn in platinum. Caysie had an extra one so she gave me for a song because I couldn't decide on the setting. The stone faces up like a 1.5 so very happy with that. My finger size is a 7.25-7.5. I was very surprised how small the stone looks on my fat fingers. I have been wanting a solitaire for a while now. And this is scratching that itch. Though the size is becoming more acceptable on my hand I will be resetting eventually. Probably a three stone. Anyways...gem ****.

Beautiful! LOVE that big flower shape under the table. And so bright!

Doesn't look too shoddy on your hand

The stone's faceting is perfect!

Ah I've been waiting to see this! It's gorgeous Niel, the faceting is so nice and it's such a lively and bright stone…and what a fabulous temp setting! Looks SO pretty on your hand, congrats and enjoy!

Perfect, Niel!

Btw, I think you have lovely hands - very pretty shape for rings!

HI:

Wow--great ring! CVB is a generous vendor.

cheers--Sharon

Beautiful Niel! It looks lovely in the CVB setting but I'm sure a 3 stone would help with some finger
coverage...I feel your pain in that respect!

Congrats! It looks like a beautiful stone and really does look gorgeous on your finger. So glad that you got a stone that you love - enjoy every sparkle!!

Beautiful stone! I like the temp setting too.

Beautiful ring, Niel! The OEC has such a pretty facet pattern, and I think it looks great in the CVB solitaire until you decide on your reset! I've had mine in a temp solitaire for 4 years next month! The good thing is, we can wear them in the meantime!

It's beautiful. Fwiw I think it has a huge presence as a solitaire and looks perfect on your hand. But then I'm a solitaire girl at heart

Love it, beautiful stone!!! :clap::clap::clap::clap:

Your stone has such a beautiful pattern - I love it. And it's showcased in a gorgeous solitaire. Being greedy, the macaron in one of your shots looks great too!

Just gorgeous and in the perfect setting for it too! Congratulations Niel. It looks absolutely beautiful on you.

Ooh, I've been waiting for you to post something about that gorgeous avatar! It's absolutely beautiful! Loving the facet pattern & I think the setting is great as it lets the diamond shine!

It is beautiful!

IMG_20170404_185608_400.jpg IMG_20170404_155053_121.jpg IMG955481.jpg Thanks everyone. It really is lovely as a solitaire don't get me wrong. And it's not even like it's "not me" because it is. I just think it doesn't look complete right now.

Everyone who commented on the facetting patter is right it's stunning. I had only seen 2 old cuts in person before I bought this ring. One was my sweet momma's and hers is 36 points. The other was an o-p color that didn't blow me away so I wasn't sure what to think. I was aiming for shape and size and cut and color. I didn't really care if it would end up being an orc or a roundy old minder or a tranny or an MRB, honestly. But now that I have it I totally get the appeal of these babies. My old MRB would pick up the same colors, of course, but in diffuser lighting where my MRB would look like a rainbow of brilliance now the light has more of an area reflect and it ends up looking like a more holographic brilliance. I don't even know if that makes sense. But a good comparison is painting your nails with a larger sparkle Holo (MRB) vs using Holo powder (older cut) .

Anyways. I've ordered a french cut ruby band in platinum that coming eventually as I ordered it from the UK. So I'll snap pics of the two of those when it comes.

Such pretty faceting! It looks great on you!

It's beautiful! And not too small at all!

Niel -lovely old cut diamond with a beautiful facet pattern and I cannot wait to see this solitaire with your french cut ruby band. I love a beautiful solitaire ER and while it isn't your forever ring it is sure a nice substitute till you figure out exactly what you want. Beautiful!

"Gem ****" Every picture is lovely - feel free to post tons more! What a beautiful ring - I'm in love with the Jovyn and get excited every time a new one pops up.

Random question: Are you using an iPhone to take your pictures? If so, what's the secret? My snaps always end up so washed out...

Enjoy that ring, girl!

Beautiful ring! Lovely even in your temporary setting. Enjoy it in the interim and can't wait to see how you transform it when you are ready!
