Hi everyone! First off, I wanted to say hello - I''ve been lurking here for several months (as I''m sure many do) trying to learn as much as I can. I wanted to thank everyone for taking the time to answer questions from people like me - it''s really appreciated, and just reading sooo many posts has been a great experience.

Now...on to MY question! :-) I''ve been looking at the following stone:

Carat: 1.510
Color: I
Clarity: VVS2
Depth: 60.6
Table: 55
Crown Angle: 34.7
Crown %: 15.5
Pavilion Angle: 40.7
Pavilion %: 42.8
Girdle: Thin to Medium
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Culet: Pointed
Fluorescence: Negligible
Measurements: 7.46-7.47X4.53

HCA is either .9 or 1.3, depending on if you use the AGS #s or the sarin #s.

I know VVS2 might be a little overboard, but I also know my GF...she currently has a RHR that''s a 1.05 H VS1 - so I''d be going down a little in color and up a little in clarity...(might not make a lot of sense to some people, but trust me... :-)

Hoping to get engaged near the end of this month. Once I get the stone picked out, it''s on to the setting...she has her heart set on some Verragios, so I need to see if I can get something similar made. (But that''s another thread!)

So - does anyone care to share any opinions?

Thanks again!

Robb

It looks great!

I would not pay for a VVS clarity, but as you said, YOU know your girlfriend and what is important to her.

Good luck!

I totally agree... I also would not pay more for the clarity, but it''s up to you

Bigger the stone the more color you see (side on - the new line will look colorless face up).
I would drop to VS1 or VS2 and go up to F.
But you did ask for thoughts.
F SI1 is my personal favourite bargain stone, and G sI1 for mere mortals

... since Garry''s advice is so taken to heart around here, you may not find any corresponding stone in stock!

Yep...I agree with Gary. S1 is good enough for me, because I don''t want to pay for something i can''t see!

Thanks everyone - just what I was hoping for - honest opinions! I''ll keep spelunking and see if anything else catches my eye. If not, I can always ship this one back if we''re not happy with it!
