1.5 ct F VS2 Round Brillant Help!

Unrelated to this thread, but I just wanted to say your diamond is beautiful! Can I ask what cut it is? I've never seen it before.

Thanks so much! It is a newly cut stone patterned after antique stones called Old European cuts. It is called an August Vintage European Cut or Round. There also are August Vintage antique cushions.

The supply is low right now, but it will increase in the near future. They also will custom cut stones for people. Due to them being specialty cuts, they will be more expensive than modern rounds.

Haha, I should've known. GOG has some amazing cuts. I fell in love with the AVC years ago and I was dead set on buying one, but I'm a sparkle person and the round brilliants just win on that. Maybe if I ever decide on getting a second ring, I'll get an AVC. One can only dream. :kiss2:

UPDATE!

Hi everyone,

So I saw the diamond on Saturday. I could not find the inclusion initially at all, even with a 30x loupe. I then greased it all up with my hands and I was able to find the inclusion, but with difficulty, because the darn thing was so sparkly. I had to look hard at it a few inches from my face to find the inclusion. My eyes hurt after focusing on it.

Anyway, I decided it was not worth an extra $5K+ to get rid of such an insignificant speck that I will probably never see. Actually, after seeing it in person, I'm a bit concerned that it looks too big and flashy, but too late now. :mrgreen2:

It's been sent to BGD to get set in the Anita setting. On an unrelated note, couriering diamonds is very expensive. I spent $250 shipping the darn thing, but $250 for peace of mind is worth it. It was also cool to see it loose before it was set. I was able to read the AGS inscription with the loupe.

Here are the pictures I promised and a video. Excuse the poor photography skills. Diamonds are very hard to take pictures of with a cell phone especially in hotel room lighting!
