Hi everyone,

I have been on the hunt from some emerald cut diamond studs for a while (0.75 carats each). I was looking at Vrai but I do feel like their prices are pretty darn inflated. Anyway, I contacted Vijay at Ouros jewels and he quoted me literally $900 less than Vrai for equivalent studs (except I went for 10k gold not 14k). Aaaaanyway, he just sent me this video of the diamonds before having them set and I'm wondering if anyone has any thoughts? I've already asked him if he could do another vid w/a white background.

The facets are not be displaying a lot of off and on pattern. The ones that are off seem to stay off and the ones that are on seems to be staying on. I bookmarked this post by tyty333 because it was helpful for me.

Other things to look out for
- not too many steps off (black) at the same time
- side-by-side steps working as one big step (makes step sizes look off)
- some centers (under the table) are somewhat static (not much going on in center of stone as far as flashing/mirroring)
- dont want too big of a table combined with a flat crown

Thanks for the replies! And yes, I noticed they look slightly different. One has clipped corners and one does not, right? I don't think I'll care much once they're set, as long as they're sparkly.
 
They look quite different to me but being earrings, it's not an issue and I think seen in real life, the difference won't be noticeable either. It would bug me personally enough that I'd ask for another match if possible.

Yeah. I'm trying to decide if I care enough or not. I'm not sure I'd notice much at all once they're set. Hmm.

Yeah I think I'm the same way. I'm pretty sure I will not notice at all once I'm wearing them.
 
Look pretty to me. The real question is are you paying a fair price. Which, sorry, I don’t know… am not an earring expert. I have a ring by Ouros and found it to be a good value for the money.
