It turned out beautiful! Congratulations!!!

We never recommend eternity bands for engagement rings. Womens
Finger sizes tend to change several times during a lifetime with pregnancies, weight loss, weight gain etc. If you have it remade I would suggest that you leave a section of the bottom plain metal so that it can easily be resized in the future.

Thanks for the kind words! As for the resizing, the jeweler said they could remake it but advised against it due to finger size fluctuation as mentioned above. He did get a quote though, and they said $700 to remake the ring. Seems pricey to me. Is that a typical price?

I think it would be a fantastic deal if they'd only charge $700 to remake the ring! However, he should have told you to never make an engagement ring full eternity. A pave setting like that really cannot be sized without great risk to the setting (loose pave stones), so this time, have them make it with a solid metal section at the bottom from either 4:00-8:00 or 5:00-7:00, at least. Be sure the ring is a little loose. A ring fits more snugly when worn with a wedding band. She will also need a thin spacer band to wear between the engagement ring and wedding band so they don't rub each other (since you have pave on the side of the engagement ring). Here's an example:

Congratulations on your engagement!
