Finally I got my stone from auctions today, it is a EGL certificate, pls help with the price see if I did pay more.
Here are some informations
table 58%
deep 61.4%
crown angle 33.6
pavillion angle 31.2
girdle: thin - medium fact
no culet no flurenscent
I checked HCA about 2.7, and it is H si1 perfectly eyeclean from any angel. incisions are clounds, feathers only. not closed to the surface at all.
How much do you think it worth. Let me know, see if overpaid. Thank you!
I will show the ring later since I sd550 dead yesterday, I will recharge the battery for my slr to perform the pics.

Are you sure those #s are correct, especially the pavailion angle? I can''t get the HCA to score the stone using those #s.

sorry, should be 41.2 as pv angle. hehe~~~~~`

Well, I''m not an expert, but the numbers seem a little "off." The table is on the large side, the crown angle is too shallow, and the pavilion angle is a little deep. But it does OK on the HCA ("very good" ratings for all 4 parameters), so it could be a pretty stone, just not the cream of the crop. I know very little about how these factors affect pricing, but I would be interested in hearing what the experts think vs. what you paid. Please post your pictures once you take them!

I knew how important for the cut, but this one is not bad at all. I totally can accept it. I checked HCA before I pay for it, loose stone costed me 6.5k plus 350 for the solitaire 6 prongs setting w/ band in 14k white gold. Did I over pay for it? pls let me know.

Well... It does look like you overpaid a bit. There are GIA and AGS stones (although I have not put them through the HCA) starting at least several hundred dollars below what you paid for this EGL stone. You didn't say whether it was EGL USA or some other lab; can you tell us that? If I were in your shoes and had the ability to return this stone (do you?) I would do that and have the savvy PSers find another one for you.

I knew that is a egl -us certificate, I belive it may has some water inside. The final is if it''s only several hundreds, I am not going to return it, because it''s absoutly eyeclean one from any angles. Even with a loup I only seen a feather and couples cloud, really good piece. My questions is more worry about if it only worth under 5k, then I will feel more disappointed.
The company has 90days for the refund, and lifetime buy back for 80% what''d you paid. Price doesn''t need to be double, a very nice sales lady.
Even GIA or AGS, I still think them have water too, but less. Who knows? Diamond just a piece of rock, who can provider more service, and that''s it. that''s the reason I learned a lot form pser but shoped in local dealer.

If you are happy with your purchase and satisfied with the price you paid then that's all that's important. Enjoy the beautiful diamond and please come back and post some pictures of the finished ring so we can see it too!

I don't really understand your "water" comments though...

took at night time, proberly will retake one tomorrow under normal outside light.

At the top of the page, you''ll see PRICESCOPE YOUR DIAMOND where you can fill in the size, clarity, color etc. and see comparable stones in the virtual marketplace.

I''d say you overpaid. There are more than a dozen stones (I stopped after two pages) between $3800 and $5000, all 1.20 to 1.22, H, SI1...most EGL, some GIA. You would have to look at individual cut characteristics but it appears that your stone wasn''t a "bargain".

I did check it before I pay for it, because some of the SI1 can not be eyeclean. I bought it becasue without a loup even I closed to the stone about 1 inch, it''s 100% eyeclean to me. I am still happy about it, the only one I saw via pser has the close hca 2.6 (mine''s 2.7) stone that list about $6250 by gia certificate. So I knew I overpaid it!
Anyway, I still like it. up to now, I have 4 pieces of stones for above 1ct. This is the lowest clarity one, but it''s not bad at all. I am still looking for D si1-2 with stong blue flurenscent, for personal favor, eyeclean too.
