I absolutely would do 3/4 so that even if the stone leans to the side, you will still see diamonds.

Well, for me personally...I'd get the 1/2. The 3/4 will rub between the fingers and some, like me, would find it very annoying. Plus those stones will be dirtier faster (IMO). I honestly don't think it's worth it to get the 3/4 because you'd only see the ring from the top, and no one will see the diamonds in between the fingers...it's up to you though.

Does the total carat weight change depending on the size of the finger? If it doesn't change and she has a smaller than average (<size 6) ring size, a 1/2 eternity will cover more than half the band on her finger. If that's the case, I'd probably choose the half eternity to save money.

I also find pave scratchy but my fingers are really close together.

Here size is about 4.75-5 and I don't think the carat weight changes, so good advice on that.

I'm torn because I like the 3/4 but my sister in law thinks the 1/2 is fine. so I flee to the internet for advice :P

I have a WF 3/4 eternity, size 5 3/4. When it moves around there are enough stones that I rarely see plain metal. It doesn't get dirty because the stones are well anchored and protected. If you wear a 1/2 eternity you are still going to feel the prongs a bit until you get used to them and with a slight spin the metal will be visible.

My fingers are boney and my rings spin so I wish I had a full eternity. If your finger can hold a ring in place the 1/2 eternity might work out just fine.

The stones are set low so the prongs actually protect the stones from contacting a surface if it spins. Mine spins and I have not damaged or lost any stones. I do not do dirty work in my rings, though.

I don't know about the carat weight not changing but the stones wrap around from about 9 to 3 for a 1/2 eternity.

I am a half eternity. I'd rather half metal show if it spins a little than risk damaging stones and not have enough room for sizing.

The only reason I would go for a 1/2 eternity is because no matter how low set the diamonds are, I feel everything between my fingers. Mine rarely spins so I'm happy with it.

I just recently got an 3/4 e-ring and I love it. I had a 1/2 e-ring before and I disliked the fact that the ring spun all the time and I kept seeing so much metal. I have a 1/2 wedding band that I'm planning to switch to an eternity for this very reason.

I have a half on my e-ing and it doesn't spin. I also have a half band to go with it and it does spin, so I wish the band was a 3/4.

I don't have any issues with it rubbing my other fingers. I only have this issue with really thick shanked rings and cut down pave tends to be pretty minimal so I guess it depends a little on if you are looking at a cut down style eternity or something like a channel set where the ring might be a lot thicker.

I have 41 band rings, some1/2, some full (no 3/4). I honestly think it's such a personal choice what you like - visually and comfort-wise.Can you try ones on? I get small sizing beads in some of my 1/2 eternities so they can't spin. If I have a chance I'll take a picture.

3/4 gives you plenty of sizing space and the base of the ring is metal so I don't see why the diamonds would be damaged. You are going to feel diamonds on the sides even with half if the fingers are squeezed together. And that was a great point made about the wedding band being more likely to spin around. I already said it, but I'd go 3/4.

Definitely 3/4. I have a 3/4 eternity and I wish I would have went for the full eternity. I have to adjust the ring multiple times throughout the day because of spinning.

I vote for 1/2, those diamonds rubbing in my fingers would drive me nuts. I do have an eternity band but there are no prongs so it doesn't bother me. Add prongs and I only want them on top.

My vote 3/4 I think 1/2 makes it look like they ran out of stones lol

No doubt about it, a 3/4 would be my choice. I have an eternity band, & really don't have any issues with comfort or spinning. It has a small spacing bar. My band has 10 diamonds, if it were a full, it would have had 12--so missing 2 on the back for the spacing bar--a bit more than a 3/4 & not quite a full. I have a half baguette/round eternity, & I hated the metal showing!!

If you're jumping in & considering, please try each type on so you can see/feel the difference, as it is significant IMO. It would be a shame to finally have your half to realize after the fact that maybe the 3/4 would have been better. Good luck with your decision!!
