which do you prefer better and why?

I voted 3/4 eternity because there's more diamonds that go more than 1/2 way round your finger, but you still have room for sizing should you ever need it.

3/4 because knowing the half may show some metal, even if rarely would bother me. I like the room of the 3/4 to size and engrave.

Have you considered a 2/3? That's what I went with in the end because the 3/4 worried me if the diamonds would show and scratch when I pick things up. Also makes it slightly more affordable.

I have eternity bands and I love them. I have fat knuckles so my rings are a tad bit bigger so they spin like crazy, this is the main reason I have eternity rings. But, I also have a couple bands that are little more than 1/2, even if they spin you don't see any metal. The diamonds stop at 4 and 8 o'clock and just perfect. These bands are size 5 1/2. I hope this helps, goodluck!

depends on the price difference.

We went 3/4 for the reason above. Best of both worlds. You don't see the metal like you would on a 1/2, but you can resize, which you cant on the full eternity.

I have a 2mm Tiffany 1/2 eternity and although I have a little bit of a larger knuckel and my ring is a little big, it only occasionally spins(not nearly as much as I though it would). If I had it to do again and money was no object, I would get the 3/4 . If there is a major price difference I really have no problems with my 1/2. Good luck!

My e-ring is a 1/2 eternity, and like PP said it doesn't spin often so you rarely see the end of the diamonds on top. However, if I were to do it again (or could bear to part with it long enough to get more added) I would prefer a 3/4.

thanks for all the feedback. sounds like 3/4 is the way to go... :))

I have a 1/2 eternity, which I love because I'm sentimental and it's the band from my ceremony. But it's a 1/2 eternity purely because of our budget. I wanted larger diamonds. So with our budget a 1/2 eternity got me larger stones as opposed to what I would have ended up with in a 3/4 band, the stones would have been smaller.

For the most part, I'm happy, but I must admit my ring does twist sometimes and you can see that it isn't a true full eternity band.

If the Diamond Fairy could wave her magic wand I would want a 3/4 eternity for better coverage and the option of resizing -- with bigger stones . :wink2:
