I've been in touch with GOG who have been very patient and immensely helpful in working with me to find (in a very short timeframe) a diamond to go in a Mark Morrell Fancy Torchiere setting.

I think I've narrowed it down to http://www.goodoldgold.com/diamond/10686/, but still have a couple of reservations:

1. It seems like some of the inclusions almost "reflect" inside the diamond and make them look like fissures, and can even be seen in the ASET and DiamXray. GOG said that the inclusion at 9:00 blends in beautifully with the facet structure and basically becomes another facet, and if you do not know what you are looking for, were comfortable saying you will never see it. Any thoughts on this?

2. The setting they have in stock is for a ~1.25ct center stone, while this is a 1.05ct stone. Could there be any fitment issues?

Here's a video of it compared to a couple others.

Any opinions please?

I'm not the best resource for information on diamonds, but I can share that my mom went with a designer sample setting that held a 1.25 ct diamond for her 1.03 ct diamond. This was through a reputable jeweler who assured her the size difference would pose no problem. The diamond came loose once, was tightened, then fell out. She was lucky to recover it! They wanted to make her a new head, and reluctantly she agreed. The new head looks nothing like the original, and that was what she loved about the setting. Given her experience, I would now hesitate to put a smaller diamond set into a setting made for a larger diamond, even .25ct larger.

Would Mark Morrell be setting your diamond, or GOG? If MM, I might feel more comfortable with it as he is a perfectionist.
