1.05 H VS2 or 1.42 I VS2 HELP!

Ive been looking for 2 weeks and I am stuck on these two, and I just want to decide and order my diamond!
I have a G now, but looking to upgrade to at least 1 carat..... found a great 1.05 H, but then I found a 1.42 carat I (the size and great price has me thinking about this one alot)

Which one would you get out of these two?

I'd probably have to get the credit card limit increased. and hope to not be murdered by my husband.... but great idea!

You could ask for a temporary increase and then reduce it back down again as soon as any Return is complete

Make sure to ask what the Return process is, whether they cover insurance both ways, and timescales for one/both being back in their hands - there may be minimal costs so you need to know up-front.

You should also speak to your Home and Contents Insurance company - it could be wise to request specific coverage while they are in your possession 'just in case', as a momentary lapse of concentration leading to a dropped stone can lead to hours of fruitless hunting through a carpet! lol

I wouldn't waste time buying both... 1.05 vs 1.42 is a huge size diff - it's like comparing apples to oranges. Assuming it's within your budget, I guarantee you'll be happier with the larger stone.

The much larger size would make me far happier than the slight color difference. I’d definitely go for the I!

I think I colored stones are gorgeous, I love mine! A teeny bit of warmth but not yellow. I‘d get the larger stone.

Let me put it another way... you won't notice the difference between H and I. You absolutely WILL notice one stone being 40% larger than the other.

I think this size difference is compelling, but not everything to everyone.

Since you presently own a G, I'd be sure to see the stone and be sure you will be happy with a I. I like the idea of getting both and deciding, but will you be trading in your stone and working with one of the big online retailers? If so, your stone will be lost forever in the transaction. You have to mail your stone in for the trade-in and they immediately put it into QC and sales. So, it will commit you to one of these or another stone from the same vendor.

I would make sure you are comfortable with an I. Some people may see tint and bother them.

Also, not sure if you have a set budget, but is the 1.42 over budget? Why not look for something around 1.2ish if so?

Just wanted to point out some people can see tint in an H, too. I can see tint in an H, but I went with an I. If I can already see the tint either way, I’d rather have the larger size. It really depends on if the tint bothers you.
