I am in contact with a ring designer via email, I have decided to go for a Marquise cut diamond, but our budget is pretty tight, there are 2 diamonds which are within our price range a 1.00 K (TTLB) SI2 or a .86 K SI1,
I want to go for the larger one, but I''m worried that it will look brown, does anyone have an image of this type of stone?

Hi Lesley-Ann
TTLB's are often used commercially by chain stores that supply ready to wear engagement rings and mounted properly they can be quiet attractive.
In some cases they face up better than a K color in the yellow range. Cut is very important in off color stones so I would suggest that you should try and compare the two diamonds side by side.
This is not the type of purchase you should make unseen.

An internet image wont help as the brown of TTLB is only an overtone and would not be visible on a computer monitor

Hi Johan,

Unfortunately the vendor is in South Africa, and I'm in Ireland,
there's no way I'll be able to see it. I was wondering if there
is a colour chart available which would help me decide which
one to go for. I feel that the stone should be at least 1 carat,
otherwise the design would be compromised, my only worry is that
if I go for the TTLB that it will appear to be murky ...
