I have given myself a substantial amount of time to locate the perfect diamond for girlfriend. She wants a princess cut and for it to be 1 carat. I have done alot of reading here on price scope but most of the advanced diamond knowledge is for round brillant cut. I know my priorities in the 4 C's needs to be as followed in this order... Cut, Color, Clarity, and Carat. What I am lacking knowledge wise is the crown, depth, table, and symmetry. What would be considered favorable percents on these details? Also if I have left something out that I also need to be on the look out for please let me know. Budget wise in mind I am looking for a the following if this helps...
Setting: White Gold
Carat Size: .95-1.05
Color: D-I
Clairt: IF-SI1 (Not sure if SI2 is alright, any insight would be great)
Cut: Ideal- Excellent (I have read that there is not much of a difference between Ideal/Excellent/Very Good, and help would be great!)
Thanks in adavanced and sorry I am asking so many questions. Just want to get the best for my money as well. My budget for the diamond alone is $3000, also please tell me if I am out of my mind on fidning a nice diamond for that amount.
