Hi all, First time Pricescope blogger, first time E-Ring purchaser.

I searched many B & M jewelry stores with my gf to try and find a ring that she liked as much as the Tiffany cut from Tiffany''s. We found some potentials, but nothing that really wowed us. I then turned to Google and stumbled across these blogs which led me to what I think is an amazing diamond for the price ($4,020 after PSDSCNT) from James Allen. But I''d like to see what all of you more experienced diamond folk think. See diamond HERE.

I got this on the platinum 6 prong knife edge setting (HERE), so it should look a lot like the Tiffany''s ring, I think. But if any of you have photos you can post, or links to photo''s on current posts, of this setting with a similar diamond, I would really appreciate it.

Scores an HCA 3, most likely due to the steep pavilion angle. I''d be much more worried about this than IF clarity, which is indistinguishable from VS2 to the naked eye. Low price is due to cut quality, which isn''t all that fantastic... did you happen to get an idealscope image from JA?

Has it already been set or do you have a chance to select another stone?

I see what you''re talking about with the HCA 3. How does this differ from AGS'' certification which rated everything ideal? How come the very different cut ratings? Is the HCA truly accurate? I only ask, because I changed the pavilion from the angle (41.2) to the depth % (43.6) and got a slightly better HCA of 2.2. Which one is right? Is this really that much of a deal breaker? That being said. Is there anything you would recommend over this?
Also, I did not get an ideal scope, but I will request one.

What is your budget? Sorry. I just saw the answer to that question.

Could be good from the numbers and loupe image, ask for an Idealscope image to confirm if there is leakage present.

Hi Keith

yssie is right, it is due to the pavilion angle that the diamond is scoring this way on the HCA. You could get an Idealscope image to investigate further, from the loupe image it looks as if it might be a nice diamond and an IS image would tell us more.
