0.90ct round- Choosing eye clean diamonds and other considerations

Call wink tomorrow at HPD. You won't be disappointed!

Simone, I wouldn't recommend buying from a private seller for the point he listed-- he has no upgrade credit with a good company.

Look at Js of any size at the HPD website to see the videos... CBI diamonds are the cream of the crop. Absolutely perfect. I can almost guarantee you a J from HPD will face up white.

I know that some of the PS vendors don't have a problem with transferring ownership of the stone, maybe he can inquire with JA. I have an ideal cut J and yes, it does face-up white, but it ain't a D :P

I have E color earrings and they are super bright white but they are sort of "cold" looking if you get what I mean. I personally don't think I would go for a D and when I trade these in, I'm going to shoot for an F.

I hear you, I like the softer whites, my personal favorite is an H, although most of my recent upgrades have been Js. I suggested the stone with his budget in mind. I would still pick a D over J provided that the price is the same, but he is the decision maker in the end. As you indicated, a J is an "advanced topic" :)) However, I do find out that most "normal" people (aka not on PS :lol-2:) cannot really distinguish between the various diamond colors, so I do think that either choice will be fine.

Thank you for the insight. I do appreciate it. I will take a look at a J color in person and if it is OK for the lady

If you can transfer ownership with JA that would be a great idea. I'd be interested to see if this is possible

Make sure to also let her know that there is a choice. Definitely reach out (or have the seller reach out) to JA and ask them if a transfer of ownership is allowed so that you can enjoy the upgrade benefits should you decide to purchase the stone.

The diamond on loupe troop is really nice for the price. The seller is a PS member and she's located in CA. I don't know where you live but maybe arrange a meeting if you're closed enough since you're not comfortable with buying online?

The J you look at in person has to be a super ideal diamond otherwise you won't be comparing apples to apples.

Alright you guys, I reached out to JA with the question regarding transfer of ownership. The request would need to be initiated by the original owner and needs to be approved by someone on the management team (similar to another PS vendor I have inquired with in the past). I would definitely consider it as a great option! The stone is offered at > 30% off! I would request a 3 day inspection period and take it to an appraiser. If you change your mind, return it. Or facilitate the sale through an appraiser.

I must admit I have thought of buying that stone myself in case one of my boys needs it. (Before this post... I check LT several times a day)

Haha - me too! For myself really, but I don't have excuses for owning multiple diamonds and the D will seriously clash with my J stones..

Whitewave, maybe you should buy it. The OP seems seriously scared from the secondary market. It's such a great deal!

Hi everyone,

I have been working with a seller to find a diamond and we stumbled on this one. Currently thinking I'd like to play it safe with the yellow in going to a higher color above J. Also, thinking about finding a decent eye-clean SI1 to compensate. (I was planning on doing a J/VS1 or J/VS2 for some time now).

A)0.90ct SI1/G

B)0.90 VS1/I

Option B has an ASET/idealscope which is nice. what do you guys think? Both priced similarly....

Option A also has an IS available.

There is an obvious culet on Option B (could it have been damaged in handling?).

I'd rather choose option A.

Thanks for reading
option A has lower face up size at 6.17-6.18mm for a 0.90ct. But I believe it is eye-clean for an SI1?
Do you think an ASET is necessary? I'm not sure what else to consider...

What's their (sheetalgroup) return policy? No questions asked? No restocking fee? Ive never heard of them but the scopes and numbers look good (to me, a non-expert).
