0.85ct large enough for Vatche RC channel setting?

Hi Forum,

I''ve recently purchased a 0.85ct G VS1 diamond and plan to set it into the Vatche Royal Crown setting with channel set RB sidestones (Style #232). The setting has 5 1.5pt diamonds on each side, all of G/H color and VS clarity.

My only concern is whether or not the sub-carat diamond will have anything taken away from it in this particular setting. Unfortunately the only ring shown on the Vatche website is with a 1.5ct center stone, way outside my budget. But I''m definitely set on the look of the setting from that picture. I know the ring is definitely made for other stone sizes as well, and from what I''ve understood, Vatche does an excellent job of scaling the ring to match the center stone.

Does anyone else here have this setting with a similar size center stone and would be able to comment on their impressions? Thanks!!

I hope it's large enough because I am in the process of getting a 0.65ct stone mounted in a RC setting

Are you going with the standard RC setting or the one with sidestones? I would not have a single reservation with either of our diamonds in the solitaire setting; I'm just concerned that Vatche's addition of 10 small diamonds may be too much without a larger diamond.

I do see your concern. Mine is the solitary setting; no other stones. The side stones were too overbearing on the verragio setting I wanted, which is what pushed me to go with vatche. I think that the 0.85ct should be big enough though. Your stone has ~10% larger diameter than mine.
