SAG Awards 2021

Nothing is quite like it used to be, as close as it may seem. The stars were as glamourous as ever for the SAG Awards, even if they were streaming in from their homes. Among the elite, there were some incredible jewelry looks, proving that they didn’t phone in the looks…even if they were in their living rooms.

The Screen Actor’s Guild Awards held its Easter Sunday presentation with an expedited version of a red carpet awards gala. They created a one-hour pre-recorded event as their answer to alleviating some of the awards season bloat. The awards were, of course, presented via Zoom as most are during the COVID era. Let’s check out some of our favorite looks!

Jurnee Smollett

Jurnee Smollett came onto the scene as a child actor and has maintained a career in Hollywood. She has grown into a gorgeous woman and her look for the awards was spectacular. We were especially into her Bulgari necklace and the way that it complimented her Zuhair Murad gown. While her Lovecraft Country lost to The Crown in the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series category, she still looked like a winner to us.

Anya Taylor-Joy

Anya Taylor-Joy nabbed the award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series for her breakout role in The Queen’s Gambit. She turned up via Zoom in a custom Vera Wang gown and decked out in Tiffany & Co jewels. Her gown was inspired by retro nightgowns, and the jewels created a look that was decadent and not overdone. The diamond necklace was stunning on her beautiful long neck, the rings were a great look with her intricate manicure.

Emma Corrin

After playing Diana, the Princess of Wales in this year’s season of The Crown, Emma Corrin has splashed onto the scene. She is as lovely as the gorgeous woman that she skillfully portrayed, but dressed to be memorable as herself. While she lost the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series award to Gillian Anderson she made sure that her appearance on the virtual red carpet was unforgettable. In Prada with Cartier earrings and a diamond ring, she made a beautiful impression.

Dan Levy

Dan Levy has been making his presence known in the Hollywood scene for his humor, talent, and impeccable style. During awards season he has been seen in several exciting looks, and the SAG Awards were no exception. The cream suit by The Row matched with Cartier and he was perfection. Levy may not have won his solo category, but his show still took the prize for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series as well as Catherine O’Hara winning the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series award.

Kerry Washington

Kerry Washington spoke about her Mermaid Vibes on her Instagram and we are here for it. She took the look that was already incredible and created images that are spectacular in a way that we don’t often see. We love that her dedication to the look had her in the pool in her custom Etro gown. She wore the stunning blue dress with Bulgari jewels and the overall look reminded us a bit of a modernizing of The Million Dollar Mermaid with Esther Williams. Anya Taylor-Joy took home the prize in their shared category, but Kerry Washington is never one to overlook. Little Fires Everywhere earned her the nomination, but her look gets top marks.
