It seems like 2016 has become the year of the celebrity wedding and engagement. This time we bring you supermodel Miranda Kerr and her billionaire fiancé, Evan Spiegel. The duo recently became engaged on July 20th, after a year of dating. You may all remember Ms. Kerr is one of the most recognizable faces, having walked down the Victoria’s Secret runway multiple times and is the ex-wife of Orlando Bloom. Mr. Spiegel gained attention (and his billions) as the most visible cofounder of social media behemoth, Snapchat. Then somewhere along the path of world domination, he met Miss Kerr, got down on one knee and the rest is history.
The Engagement Ring
What is that saying, “What goes around, comes around…?” Well, if celebrity engagement rings are anything to go by, then the round brilliant ring is back in business. Now, we know that the round brilliant cut was always on top; it is still the most popular cut out there. However, celebrities seemed to have been enamored with fancy cut diamonds in recent memory. That trend seems to have gone by the wayside because Mr. Spiegel proposed to Ms. Kerr with a stunning and classic 1.5-2.5 carat round diamond with tapered baguettes set in either platinum or white gold. According to experts, this ring could have set Mr. Spiegel back upwards of $75,000. A mode sum indeed when you are worth more than two billion dollars.
The Look for Less . . .
Not married to a billionaire but want a ring just like Miranda Kerr’s? Don’t worry; you can have her look for less with these beautiful engagement rings.
Miranda Kerr and Evan Spiegel’s engagement comes hot on the heels of other celebrity engagements. Yet we love that Ms. Kerr’s engagement ring doesn’t scream celebrity or bling overload.
