We’re three months into 2021 and although the average price of diamonds decreased in January and into early – February, could the price of diamonds have increased over the Month of Love as predicted? Top 5 popular diamond shapes for March.

Round diamonds continue to be the most popular shape of diamond on the market consuming 77.14% of the market’s popularity. Followed by Oval (4.73%) and then Emerald (3.64%) placing third. Round diamonds have increased in popularity over the past month, therefore decreasing the popularity (%) of the other four shapes. It is interesting to note that the Cushion shape has decreased in popularity over the past month going from 3rd place to 5th place.

This March the average diamond price per carat for a round diamond of 1 – 1.4 carat G color VS1 clarity is $7,742 compared to February 2021 which was an average price of  $7,657. We have seen a slight increase in the past month.
