“The Art of Diamond Cutting” is an in-depth video describing the various stages involved in the transformation of a rough diamond crystal to a finely-cut gem.
As an example of this process you will observe the cutting of an antique-style cushion cut diamond. Many of the steps taken along this process have been passed down by the cutting community through centuries of apprenticeships to becoming a master cutter. Though the machines have changed, the cutter’s ability to produce a magnificent gem quality diamond has not. You will have a close-up view of the diamond actually being cut. It is rare for anyone outside of the professional diamond community to be a witness to this event.
