YAAAYYYY! Oh my gosh, that''s so close to the "mock-up" version I saw at the store ... I only hope the finished product looks that good (prongs & all!!)

Thank you SOOOOOO much, Irina!!! (Kinda wish you did platinumsmithing!

in addition to photoshopsmithing!)

That will be fabulous. Deco I have to say you are one of my favs and I LOVE your snarkiness! Keep it up! Mokey

Oh Deco....ever see something you love (like me seeing your old ring) and then see something new (like me seeing your "new" ring) and wonder how you didn''t know there was room to like something so much more? That ring is going to make me cry. The asscher looked lonely way up there on its top bunk, and now it has a snuggy ring blanket to cuddle with....but still manages to be on parade like it should! Wowza!

WOW Irina, your photoshop of deco''s ring is super fabulous
36.gif
..deco, if it comes out anything like that is going to be spectacular
30.gif

that is going to be yummy. Beautiful asscher!

Deco, read thru your thread, it was FABULOUS. And, it seems like your guy knows you and was having some fun too!!!! (not bad...) I want to know more about you as well!!! I think you are redoing your ring? Good luck with it...

LOVE IT ... LOL. I hope the sparkly is warm & safe while it''s gettin'' worked on too! The jewelry designer guy saw the look on my face when I was about to leave it again and he said "You can come & visit it you know!" ... and I was like "Don''t kid with me - I just MAY DO THAT!" Can you imagine ... stopping by, having lunch with my disassembled sparkly, tearful goodbye. I don''t wanna creep out the best jeweler in the area - so I''ll try to resist!

Widget, Lorelei, Mokey, Mat, Mrssalvo, Rainbowtrout, Diamondfan -- thanks for the feedback on (as Irina coined) the Redecoration Project!

I love the look of the new head and prongs. Can''t wait to see the finished project.

Deco, your ring reDECOration project looks like the final product will be nothing short of stunning, though I will say I have a special place in my heart for your setting as it is - it''s one of my favorites, seriously.

Thanks for sharing some of yourself with us and for being here on PS, I do enjoy your snarky posts!!

Oh darn it, FG, MEEEE TOOO. I have no quarrel with the look really, it''s that darn wearability factor. It probably would have been that way a long, long time had the prongs not kept loosening! I hope I don''t regret this! (If the re-do looks anything like Irina''s rendering - I''ll be THRILLED!)

When will your e-ring be done?

Any progress on the wedding band search?

First of all, you are one of my favorite posters too, Deco, your wit, intellect, and wise & snarky ways are so refreshing. I know I mentioned it in another thread (you know, one of those threads that would have prompted a Decoism...) but I just love your on-point quips that always come at just the right time. They bring a big grin to my face, I hope I can have such a great attitude when I grow up..

I love the new (mock-up?) of the new head but agree your old one fit so well with the antique ring as a whole. The new version looks way more wearable though. With the original mount I picture a rich old lady who never needs to lift her hand, let alone worry of knocking her ring doing work.

When will your e-ring be done?

Ah HA!!! THIS is where I saw the questions ...

Moments after perusing your new SATIN pix I was calling & emailing the jeweler to try & get my baby out of the Pokey. In fairness to them, they said it might be THREE WEEKS and I don''t think its been nearly that long yet. The widdle piece thing had to be sent away to be made in Platinum. Sigh.

Any progress on the wedding band search?

Can''t make up my mind and, honestly, considered using my e-ring as THE ring for our October wedding. I''ve been w/o it since MARCH already ... what''s another FIVE months?? Oh man, I''d never make it. Would it be wrong to just take it off & put it back on again at the ceremony. I''m not really DYING for a band right now (& have such expensive tastes that I''d rather wait for something awesome five years from now -- can you say: fat asscher eternity band!) With platnium prices the way they are right now - even a plain engraved band thick enough to "stand up to" the ering will be 2K!

Whaddya think?

Hee hee ... here''s to one day BEING a rich old lady! I wish! In the meantime I absolutely can''t wait to get my sparkly back from the Pokey!! Seriously - I was trolling QVC last night I''m so desperate for SOMETHING. (The had a pretty Asscher shaped "sapphire" with "trap" sidestones & pave in "platnium like substance" available in my size that I may have bookmarked

Deco, this reminded me of a band you posted, but with asschers... Have you tried something like this until you get that honker eternity band you dream of? Maybe with engraving on the band to match you ering?

I gotta tell ya, I love the idea of your ring all by itself.
It is such a show-stopper of a design.
Can''t wait to see the re-Decoration.

Super close up ... I love how you can see the shape of the stone better more clearly now ... the prongs almost dissapear, and the crown height pops.

I''m so relieved the "fix" looks integrated ... like it''s how it was "meant" to be & not an "afterthought". I think the whole design is tight now, solid ... def. def. more user friendly!!!!
