Great story, Mike! I loved reading it and looking at the photos. I know it's a daunting process to learn about jewelry in general. Studying diamonds and engagement ring settings is a whole other challenge. I applaud you for your diligence and passion in getting her something special, and for your effort to not be satisfied with anything "almost perfect."

Even though I don't know your girl or her tastes, it sounds like she'll love it. All the hours of your journey searching and learning is worth it in the end.

Can't wait to hear how the proposal goes. What would be fun would be if you let us know what she thinks of it! Heck, maybe even ask her to jump on and post after the proposal.

I think the stone itself is a lovely fireball and the profile shot of the shank is lovely. You did a great job matching those; they're very complementary.
