I drive a Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, pros: it handles wonderful, it is fun to drive and I never get stuck in snow, cons: gas milage, would I buy something different, not sure, I dont look at cars to much but I am sure I could find one, lol, I would like to have a 2010 Camaro just because I want one

thanks for the reply!! I just bought my first brand new car, a Chevrolet cobalt! I haven''t yet gotten through my first tank of gas but I''m averaging 28mpg and I don''t do very much highway driving. I almost get double the gas mileage the my husbands Silverado. I was looking at a Pontiac G5 but the nearest certified USAA dealership was like 250 miles away. So far, I am loving my car. Its yellow so I do stand out!!

Corolla...my husband and I both drive one. Pros - still running like a champ with no issues at 150k miles. Cost less than $15k. Excellent gas mileage. Cons - a little small for us now that our dog is 80 pounds.

When we moved into our new house, my brother, his girlfriend and two other friends of ours came to help and we ALL drive corollas. Our new neighbors joked about that all weekend. There were 5 Corollas in the driveway!

I drive a Toyota Rav 4 (bought it 2nd hand about 2.5 yrs ago) and I love it. it isn''t as luxurious as the car I had before this (a VW Passat) in that it doesn''t have climate control and cruise control, but I love it so much more than the Passat because I have never had to get anything replaced on it! I used to have a lot of problems with the Passat and it cost me a ton to replace parts.

I could probably afford to buy my dream car which is a Lexus RX 450h, but then I wouldn''t be able to pay the insurance, gas (well, it''s a hybrid, so that shouldn''t be a problem, right?) and to get anything fixed/replaced.

I live in Holland and gas is very expensive. right now it''s going at EUR 1.458/L which is US$ 5.53/gallon. cars are very expensive as they are heavily taxed and we pay road tax (as opposed to using a toll system) which is based on the weight of your car, not how much you drive. So as you can see cars are quite a luxury for us.

Nissan Armada - needed the larger vehicle (but not a van) to haul a 6 year old and 2 year old twins

I love it - it''s huge but drives real nicely. We test drove an escalade which I thought I would love but it was so not me and just didn''t drive as well as the armada IMO. Trying to get DH to trade in his SRT for a new G35 however he wants his next car to be "bumblebee" from transformers - such a nerd but I love him

Very nice HOT! I love my zippy little car, its so fun to drive. And it''s safe! Great brakes, stearing, suspension, traction control, full side and curtain airbags. I know that when it''s raining etc and there are idiots on the road, I am much safer in my widdle car. And it''s blue!!! I

I have a 2001 Honda Civic and it's a great car! No complaints at all. It's small (which I like), handles really well, and gets fantastic gas mileage. This is the second Civic I've owned. Before that I had an old Corolla which was also nice. I'm definintely a Honda and Toyota girl. My family has never owned anything else!

For my next car, in a couple years, I think I want a Mini Cooper or some other small car that handles really well. I love the Civic, but I really want a "fun car" with a few more luxury options like heated leather seats, etc. An Accord would fit that description (DH's Accord is as luxurious as most Audis/VWs/etc), but they're just too big for me; I love small cars! I'm also an mpg freak and need something that gets at least 35mpg, so that counts out most traditional luxury cars with bigger engines. I figure we might try to have a kid in 10 years, so I want to get a fun two-door car now while I still can

Then I'll probably go back to a Civic.

Lexus IS300 2002... LOVE everything about it!

Except for the mandartory maintenance schedule until the warranty is up. Each one is like $500-$1000 and you have to get them done a Lexus dealership, or your warranty will be void. I''m sure it is this way with all luxury vehicles. Just added expenses that they don''t tell you about when you buy.

Honda Odyssey Minivan - Love it! Wouldnt trade for another (at the moment with 3 kids)! Pros - holds 8 people, lots of cup holders,

Just finding this thread. As of two days ago, I drive an Audi A4 2.0Quattro, and I LOVE it - totally fun to drive, and sporty, but a really upscale fully featured and comfortable interior

DH and I both drive 2007 Honda Civics. We each have the EX model.

We traded in our SUVs (a 2005 Blazer and a 2005 Equinox) because we wanted to be kinder to the environment. It took us a long time to settle on the Civics, because we wanted to pay cash, so the cars had to be affordable, and we wanted really good safety features, so that ruled out a lot of smaller cars.

We both love our Civics. My family owns Toyota dealerships, but I''d always driven Chevrolets before I bought my Civic. If our experience continues to go as smoothly as it has with our Civics, we''ll probably stick with them for a long time.

I average 32 mpg, DH averages 28. I''m a more patient driver.

I purchased a Hyundia Sonata this year (in March - pre government giveaway).

Key features were:

1) I have a tall torso - and I fit in the car with enough headroom to wear a winter hat and not have to scrunch. It seems that most other cars no longer have the head room they used to have. Certain import brands have never had adequate head room for me. Prior to this I had owned Fords - but the new Fords don''t have the head room of the old ones (and I had a Ford Aspire - which had adequate head room).

2) The spare wheelwell holds a full service spare (and has a full service spare in it). I tend to travel a fair amount on weekends up to 6 hours drive time away (and 3-4 hours is real common). When you have a tire problem - you are not getting home on a donut spare; and somehow the tire problems always come either late at night or Sunday AM when there are no tire stores open. Change the timer and go (or have someone change the tire). Simple. I can have my local tire dealer fix or replace the spare during the week. [for some reason Chicago is the tire problem king - and the vast majority of my tire problems have occured in the Chicago area].

I only found that Hyundai and Subaru cars have room for a full service spare (I am told that Volkswagon also has the room - but I did not verify that during my car search as there was not a VW dealer in a reasonably convient spot - and I had to go about 40 miles a couple towns over to get to a Hyundia dealer).

3) Cabin air filter for my asthma (control of dust and pollen).


Now I could have gotten a smaller Hyundia with all of these features - but the leg room in the back of the Sonata was a winner for me. The Sonata also has a great safety feature record.

I also have a 1993 Full size conversion van which I like for the reasonably nice seats and the ability to haul stuff (I have the back bench seat pulled out so I cab ony seat 3 passangers and have more cargo room). I do not drive this that often - but when I need to haul stuff it is the vehicle to use ( or several people on a road trip with luggage).

I finally gave up my 10 yr old turbo New Beetle (named Lily Belle) and got a Volvo C30. I was sceptical of it at first but very very quickly grew to love it. It has no cons as far as I''m concerned, it handles like a dream and has the get up and go that I need. I can''t drive a car that doesn''t have some personality under the hood.

The cabin is also bigger than Lily Belle''s, so my 6''2" fiance no longer has space issues.

After I bought it, I found out that it is apparently the "Twilight" car and for a hot second considered getting a vanity plate that said "NOT ED''S", but since it''s not a silver one like the one in the movies, I didn''t. I did however then name the car "Evie", short for Evening as a play on Twilight.

ha ah i just have to say that i am completely jealous... i want a C30, and yes, it''s all because of Twilight.

You can get a Civic like that. I just bought a 2010 4dr Civic and I do like it a lot. I downsized to get better gas mileage which is a pro. I average 33mpg per gallon. There are many pros for my car. It is an EX and I chose that one because of all the cool stuff. I have steering wheel radio controls, a usb port, a moon roof, outside temp and power everything except for seats, but whatever. I also like that the trunk pop button is on my key so if I have lots of bags I just hit the button and it releases. I have regular radio, my ipod and satellite radio so I am NEVER without something to listen to which is a big issue for me on my long commute.

Cons are that it is so light. I have to weigh down the rear to drive in snow and even then it is not a good car for snow. DH who is 6''6" gets uncomfortable driving in it for a long time, but it is my car so that really isnt a con is it. He is fine in the passenger seat, but the side of his knee hits the emergency break. It has a tiny glovebox.

If you go up to the EXL you will have everything that I have plus leather that is heated in the front and VSA which is some kind of stability control thing. I know that there are other things too, but I cannot remember them right now.

At home we have a 2004 VW Beetle with the turbo and I love it to bits!

We''re going on a trip to Alabama really soon and it''s just down to picking one of these gulf shores hotels. (Not sold on any one in particular yet so any local suggestions would be AWESOME!) While we are there we plan to rent some vehicles and some of these posts may sway us as the rental place has a great selection but we''re not sure what to pick!

I have a 2006 Honda Accord. I''m very fond of it! It has the V6 engine, so it can be zippy when I want it to be, though it doesn''t get the best gas mileage in the world (I get about 28 combined Highway/city). It''s a little big for what I need now, but I intend to have it for about 10 years, so at some point I''ll have a family to stick in there (dogs, kids, or both!).

This was my first winter with the car, and I just this week remembered that I have heated seats. D''oh!

I think only the aussies on here might know what i''m talking about?? We just traded in our car (Landrover Discovery) and got a Holden Commodore SSV Sportwagon.... It is soooo much nicer to drive than the landrover. We called the closest dealer which is about 75 klms away (approx 46 miles), and the girl had no idea what she was talking about. We were looking at 2 completely different models, and asked if we could come test drive one of the ones they had in stock. The salesgirl said the manager didnt like people test driving when they weren''t serious about buying! So we found a car on the internet and DH drove over 800klms (500 miles) just to get to it =, then had to drive back home! Had it for almost 3 weeks and he is sooo in love with the car it''s not funny....I think he loves it more than me!

At the moment, this is the car that suits us most, without having to go to a 4wd/SUV, that we already had. I think the only con about the car is the visibility out the front windscreen and side windows, but I''ll live with it. We are saving on fuel (mostly) and our insurance is almost half of what it was with our disco, and I''m sure the parts and servicing will be a huge difference too.

We have a Mercedes and love it but they''re so expensive to maintain. We''re actually looking for a new car now since ours is starting to need more and more maintenance and we''re looking at either a mini (my choice!) or maybe a three series BMW. (all DH)

Ditto that. I was spoiled by my free BMW maintenance while under warranty so it was quite a surprise to see the price of just the regular maintenace on my new IS.

I LOVE my MINI Cooper! It''s a lot of fun to drive but at the same time it''s an incredibly well-built, substantial car, and I love the way it looks. My prior car was a Corolla. I had no real complaints about the Corolla until my parents moved to the foothills, and I found myself driving a lot of hilly, curving roads. THe Corolla was such a disappointment on the twisties. The Cooper makes driving fun, especially in the hills!

My carpool buddy liked my MINI so much that he recently bought one. He''s a very practical, facts-based guy who just doesn''t get excited about too much, but the MINI is a whole ''nuther story -- I think he''s even more enthusiastic about his that I am about mine. Last week his wife organized a photo shoot of neighborhood MINIs and their owners for our neighborhood newsletter. Six of us showed up, and another nine people had contacted her but weren''t able to be there for the shoot. Talking to the other owners there, it was clear that all of them really, really liked their little cars.
