Just saw this documentary. Wow! Be prepared! Elizabeth Taylor and Queen Elizabeth pale in comparison! All I kept on thinking throughout the film was, how do you clean those jewels?! US them?! That Catherine the Great was such a diva! I read once that she would wear her emerald jewelry during negotiations with other countries as a sign of power and to intimidate.

Golconda diamonds are the rarer type IIa; they do not have nitrogen impurities.
