Interested in this stone at diamonds on web but need an "expert" opinion
H color, sI1 clarity, 2.20 weight, no fluro, girdle thin to med, polish and symm both ideal
Depth 62%
Table 55%
8.34 x 3.80 x 5.16
19,300 fair price, deal, no deal??

Any perspective is greatly appreciated - I want to strike that balance of size, color and clarity and stay under 20,000. Thanks!

BTW lab cert is AGS

Hi Sarge

Do you have the crown and pavilion angles also please? Is it an AGS0 cut grade? Can you check the diameter please you posted, that doesn't look right for a round diamond. Do you have any images for the diamond such as Idealscope or ASET?

Ok I thought so! The measurements look fine, thank you.

I will keep an eye out for the images and any other information you can get on the diamond when you have it.

No red flags so far. No report number?

I think the AGS report number id 0009577501, trying to attach the picure and complete report - too big

so - how does the price 19,300 stack up for the specs? thanks for any thoughts

Price looks ok for a B&M. But if you buy online, the same stone with WF, the price is 18k with wire-transfer and PS discount.

I found a few that ranges from $17,950-$23,000 so my thoughts are that seems reasonable... as you fall in between

ETA: I used a narrow range of your specs.

From my research - recommendation is to buy the stone loose - get appraised then put into a setting, still valid advice if report checks out?
Thanks in advance!

Have you received the images yet?

As to the above, you can get the loose diamond appraised, get it set then have the appraiser give the finished ring the once over and give you a suitable figure for insurance purposes. WF will give you an appraisal with the diamond that you could use for insurance if you prefer.

here''s the picture

Looks good, do you have the Idealscope image yet?

said they are checking with the supplier to see if they have an idealscope picture - should I expect that they would have one??

Some do Sarge, it depends.

sorry to be obtuse - if they don''t have one available, I shouldn''t perceive it as a red flag?

I don't think so, from what I understand some suppliers might have IS available and others don't. It would appear it is usual that they don't always have them as vendors who call these diamonds in often do the analysis which included ASET and IS themselves.

No, it is a tool that isn't widely used in the trade yet. Although it is nice to see them, and vendors that frequently work with PS members will be sure to have them (e.g. Whiteflash, GOG, James Allen can get them), it isn't always possible to have it. In my opinion, if it is AGS 0 and the angles look good on the HCA, and the photograph shows a nice arrow pattern, I would feel comfortable buying the diamond (eta assuming there is a good retunr policy if it doesn't check out with the appraiser).

By the way, if you are looking at a virtual stone (i.e., the jeweler does not personally own it but can "call it in" for you) then you can get WF or another PS recommended company to call it in and they will take an IS image and make their own sarin report too.

ETA Lorelei beat me, and was more succinct as usual!
