Cushion hasn't really been on my radar but I'm intrigued with this one.

I would set this in a rose gold pave style band.

What do you think?

Bottom line -- will this baby sparkle?

Thank you.

I rate it A- at least. I see some leakage here there (to be fair, the stone is tilted). Maybe a solid A depending on how it performs as you rotate.

Thank you for your reply.!

I agree that I looks like a nice cushion. I think the stone is from JA, can you please request an aset and post it here?

Put the stone on hold then let us have the link to it. I couldnt find it at JA.

Here is a what it will look like on a size 6 finger...cushions face up smaller than rounds of the equivalent weight due to deeper cushion depth.
This is the stone you posted compared with a .6 round.

Thank you for that comparison chart above - helpful. I hadn't realized the difference would be quite that distinct...

Interesting story, though. He bought the cushion. :-o Thus is why you're not finding it on JA. Here is the link: https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-diamonds/cushion-cut/0.60-carat-i-color-vvs2-clarity-sku-3497610

I requested the aset and was told earlier that it would be emailed within 24 hours, so will post it.

I am thinking of this band, if you have any feedback on how they may work together (or not):

Thank you so much. So out of my league here. :(2:eek2:

Hmm. I am seeing significanly more leakage than what I expected. Face up, its yellow tint is very noticeable. I am glad that you asked for the IS image so that you decide before it gets mounted and shipped.

I never did receive the image, but maybe/likely due to me changing to another stone. Those JA customer service people are so patient. :) I will update my other thread with what I ended up with! Thanks!!!

Great symmetry. Decent light return
Some leakage, but I would not call it complete mushiness.

Overall attractive appearance. Still A- in my book

Thank you. How would you compare it with this one: ?

These images utterly confuse me. :wall:

The JA TH is obviously superior in term of brightness and light return.
But it is not just about brightness. You need to look at contrast, leakage, facet design, light return characteristic (chunky vs splintery) and symmetry. You need also need to look at depth and spread. And of course price.

Thank you. It is so overwhelming as a novice. In hindsight, I am thinking I didn't really go so wrong with the first choice, even though I did abandon it for the second.

Those two stones were $30 apart in price. I'm wondering if that is due to the depth of the second. Doesn't matter now, though. It is mine and I look forward to seeing it IRL.

Thank you so much.
