I''m from Birmingham, AL and have been searching for a month and am ready to start making some decisions. If you can advise me on what you think or if you have any experiences with the places I am listing just let me know. I''ve read so much and seen so much that I''m having an information overload and I just don''t want to be fooled when buying a diamond. Thanks in advance! Oh and all of these are round stones.

Diamonds Direct- 1 ct "F" SI2 $3900 Ideal cut. The guy there said it was "3 x''s" across the board. GIA Cert

Jewels by Rose- .69 ct "D" SI2 EGL cert. $2265
.70 "F-G" SI3 $2550

Goodwin Jewelers d.b.a. The Jewel Source- .79 D SI2 EGL cert. $2500

John John''s Jewelers- .78 ct "G" SI1 $2713 EGL cert.
.91 SI2 EGL cert $3558

R. Myers Jewelers- 1 ct 6.5mm diameter 4mm depth; UV medium blue (flourescent) "I" SI2 $3700
This guy I find interesting because the diamond is cut well but it is an "I" and costs quite the penny. But he''s big on the blue flourescent and it did look amazing- even better than the other ones. I did get to see this diamond outside in the sunlight and it looked really clear. But the price is more then the other ones I''ve looked at and as I''ve said a billion times it is an "I". Oh and it''s not certified but the gemologist I spoke with is a GIA graduate.

I''ve read over so much material including the stuff on this website and I know that the cut will make a large difference on its beauty and that''s what I''m going for. Any suggestions to stop the madness would be appreciated :)

uab, sorry no one''s replied, but there''s not much information for us to go on.

If you want the uncerted I, you should take it to an independent appraiser.

Hi Welcome, do you have any information off the certificates? Like the crown, pavilion, cutlet (if there is one) depth and table. You can use this tool if it is a round http://www.pricescope.com/cutadviser.asp I have not heard of those vendors; you can do a search up top. We can also help you look for something in your budget if you like

If you post the above figures, then we can go from there, welcome to Pricescope.
