Today i was talking to a friend about the trends we have seen come and go in the jewelry trade and it brought up a question... what was the most trendy embaressing jewelry choice you have ever made?Mine is a clear cut choice...in 1987 i became a manager for the first time and i wanted a unique piece of mens jewelry to mark the advancement in my career at 23 years old.our store recieved an unusual gents ring that was considered very avent guarde and very modern because it mixed colored stones in a gents ring...the 14kt.yellow gold had a 2 ct. emerald cut blue topaz,a 2 ct. emerald cut garnet and a 2ct emerald cut amethyst all lined up and channel set.The ring was big, heavy and expensive($600.00-alot in 1987) and the jewelry trade magizines were calling this style of jewelry the biggest thing since sliced bread!I wore that ring only a few times and then it went into the safty deposit box for years until the company allowed me to trade the ring in toward a heavy gold and diamond mens bracelet. So lets here about your most embarressing jewelry mistakes!

I would love to see pics.

I have none that I ca think of, will look through my jewellery box.

Wow...hummm I can think of a ton of things that I have traded or moved over the years...but my worst was actually the first engagement ring from my current husband. He proposed with a sterling silver and garnet band...and the shank was fully round...it really hurt to wear it. He had no idea why I was so mad until he went to visit a guy friend of his, and realized that the older male friend wore the exact same ring as a wedding band.

A pair of bleh blue sapphires. I''ve learnt my lesson -- you get what you pay for.
