Hello All,

I have been seriously contemplating on whether to buy the diamond below and would love to have your brutal, honest input.

1.37 Carat Round Diamond
Ideal Cut, G, VS2
Symmetry - Excellent
Polish - Excellent
Depth % - 61.9
Table % - 55
Crown angle - 34.5
Pavillion angle - 40.8
HCA Score - 1.3
Cost - $9,037

Typically I had read here on PS that bluenile''s diamonds tended to be more expensive, but I have found that this price is really competitive to Whiteflash, GOG, and James Allen (taking into account this size and quality). I did find on James Allen a similar diamond, however it was a bit smaller and its HCA score was greater (it was $200 cheaper though). Also, this falls within my budget of 9-9.5k. If you find something similar feel free to let me know.

So please, have at it. Give me your honest opinions. Ladies, would you enjoy a diamond like this? Gents, would pay for this? One thing that I did find discouraging is that I can not get any more info on this other than what is given on the GIA report. However, I feel like I am willing to take that risk, and when I get it I will take it to an independent appraiser. If he confirms my worse fears, then I shall return it.

Lastly, I was told that Ideal cut diamonds from bluenile, with Excellent Polish and Symmetry, come with the Hearts and Arrows pattern. However, I was told by a BlueNile representative, so I don''t know how much I can trust this. Any thoughts on this? Okay, sorry this got a little long. But again, please give me your honest input. Thank you for your time.

Regards,

JQ

The diamond looks good, however whether it is h&a I reserve judgement without images, BN as you know do not provide them. It is optical symmetry, not lab graded polish and symmetry which is responsible for hearts and arrows patterning. It is an excellently cut stone but if you want an undisputed h&a, I would suggest looking at the branded h&a of the vendors below.

www.highperformancediamonds.com Infinity

www.briangavindiamonds.com

www.whiteflash.com A Cut Above

www.goodoldgold.com hand selected h&a

If you aren't bothered about having a true h&a diamond then the one originally mentioned is cut extremely well, but as to whether it shows a good h&a pattern or not no way to know without images.

Yummy diamond, Storm. Nice price and great cut. IMHO this one looks better than the BN one.
