I stated in an earlier thread I am helping my future SIL find a diamond for my daughter :) His budget for the diamond is under $3K. He would like to hit 6mm in size if possible but would be ok with a smaller if he has to. Lowest color is I.

I found these from Bluenile and I will also post one from WF which is the smallest but an ACA.

The first BN and the Whiteflash are great, out of the two I would go with Whiteflash since it is an ACA plus they have a better upgrade policy for future gift ideas :D

Thank you!
Would the size difference be noticeable between the WF and the BN?
Also out of curiousity what is wrong with the second BN stone?

The BN inclusions appear noticeable in the video, you can see the needles on it and the arrows appear to no be well cut.

As far as the size difference, there is a tool you can use that will show you the difference in sizes on the finger but unfortunately I’m not sure what that tool is called. Someone else on here may be able to assist with that. What is the ring size for the intended wearer?

She is a size 6 or 6 1/2 with long fingers

I would try to hit the 6mm if I were him, unless yyenfutire SIL considers that he will be able to upgrade the ring in the future. WFs upgrade policy is very generous, but there are some people who would ever upgrade their engagement rings or those that will wait a long time before they do so, so spending 2x the initial price may not be problematic.

I also like the first BN stone, I prefer the numbers and it appears crisper to me. WF always gets my vote, but I notice the 0.02mm difference, maybe she wouldn't.

JA is also an excellent choice. If you ask them for their Advantage pricing, they usually provide some discounts. They also have 15% off settings at the moment. Is he going for a simple solitaire or a different setting?

At first glance, here are a few diamonds that I like, but they are all slightly outside of the "ideal" range. I will look more later, I am sure that others will chime in as well.

Thank you!
I really do not see them upgrading at all. She wants a 6 prong "Tiffany style" solitaire. He would like platinum but I'm not sure that is in his budget :???:

I would also advice you that you/your SIL gives IDJ in NYC a call. They can source amazing stones and offer some awesome prices. Also, especially settings that they have in stock, they are usually willing to offer at a lower cost.
