Your hands look older than your age?

DF, your hands look.as if you haven't done a days work in your life!

I'm really sensitive about my hands. Is there a hand dysmorphia syndrome? I don't like my nails, my fingers (short and fat), my finger joints (fat and wrinkly) or my skin (very dry). I've spent tons of money on hand creams, cuticle oils, etc. Nothing ever really works. :knockout:

:shhh:..b/c I have been mooching off my wife for over 30 yrs...

Dancing Fire, Quit being a show off with those young looking hands!!! Wish my hands looked that young.

House Cat, I inquired about this at my dermatologist's office. The problem was I would need so much filler it would cost a fortune.

My hands look oddly young. My cuticles and nails are another story; always a mess!

I don't have the bling that DF has  and my poor hands have been through hell and back. Surprisingly the scars and lumps don't show so badly in this pic but wow they sure do look hairy

I should get my father to send a pic of his, they're like a horror movie!

I have really big hands. They're not fat, just big. Probably from all the lifting. First Missy, your hands are gorgeous and they are NOT big. I have never worn anything below a size 7. My hands do swell so sometime even my largest don't fit on my ring finger (a 9!!)

I can be somewhat self-conscious because I was born with additional digits. I no longer have them but I have the nubbins. I will not ever remove the nubbins, they're pretty much a part of me, but they can gross people out in pictures. (I also don't tend to shake hands because of this)

I will be 58 next week

Considering our guy DF posted this thread, we're lucky it wasn't "Do Your Boobs Look Older Than Your Age? (pics please)" because we know that before DF is a hands' guy, he's a boobs guy :lol-2::P;)

:shhh:..That will be my next topic!...:P

Aprilbaby aww your hands look so youthful. But I am sorry since it doesn't look like you can stack too many rings on your baby fingers...:P

Thank you Arcadian! You are so kind! Fyi cats who have extra digits (poydactyl kitties) are extra sweet and personable and smart. Coincidence? I don't think so! Hemingway owned 50 kitties and over half of them were polydactyl. I have met quite a few polydactyl kitties and they are all super amazing!

57 year old hands.

Fortunate enough to have long nails to make my hand proportional withlarge size 8 fingers. After turning 50, I started keeping them polished to distract from the wrinkles (like the highlights in my hair to mask the grey strands).

Great question. I have never gave it much though. I am overly critical of my hands because they seem so manly in size. Especially when my finger swell. aarggh!!

ZestyB, love  your 3-stone trellis, so beautiful. Your bands are so pretty, they all look great on your pretty hands.

ZestfullyBling, I LOVE your 3 stone trellis. It is perfection. Grace and elegance and blingy sophistication. And your hands are beautiful too! Though I get what you are saying about them swelling and causing you angst. Same here with mine so I get it and from one "man" hands girl to another sending you big hugs and blingy good wishes. But just need to add- I think your hands are just lovely!!!

ETA LOL love your tag line.

Man hands = strong hands. Not sure why man hands are something to not feel good about! Now, if some of you ladies with so-called "man hands" had very hairy knuckles like Jordy's, they would actually look masculine. Women's hands do a LOT of jobs and shouldn't it be a source of pride to have strong, capable-looking ones? Daintiness and delicacy have their place, for sure, but I think we should all love the anatomy which we've been gifted.

I have larger hands, ring finger size 7, years of playing piano and plenty of manual labor doing chores and fun stuff outside. I'd never call them man hands, but I would say they look strong, because they ARE strong. Who wants to thumb wrestle??? :lol-2:

All great points Monnie! And you are right. I played piano and organ for years and my piano teacher was always commenting how jealous she was of my reach LOL. And yes at least they aren't hairy. :lol-2: (Not that there is anything wrong with that!).

Monarch excellent point of view!! My hands are definitely strong!! In fact when I shake hands with gentlemen they are often surprised with my grip.::) My finger size has decreased from a 7 to a 6, but my hand strength has not changed.

Missy big ups and mad shouts for the "manly/strong hand club" !!!! Sending big hugs and best wishes back at cha!!;)
