Hello All!!

I am thinking about purchasing a diamond, but thought I should get your opinions on it first. The stats are as follows:

Round Brilliant
Weight: .93
Clarity: S12 (completely eye clean)
Colour: I
measurements: 6.18X6.27X3.88
Depth: 62.3%
Girdle: medium
Culet: very small
Table: 59%
Crown angle: 35.5
polish and symmetry: VG
and most importantly- it sparkles like crazy in person!

thanks for your input.

I think the most important thing is that you love it.
You are saving a lot of money by going with an I color, and an eye clean SI2.
This stone is not an "ideal" cut but that does not mean that it is not beautiful. From the measurements, it looks like the cutter was shooting to make that magic number of 1 carat with a big spread but just missed.

If you can, I would compare it side by side to an "ideal" cut of a similar size and color. Then just let your eye be the judge.

I personally would want a diamond with a better cut, but like I said, it is all up to you.
good luck

Hello,

Price actually seems kind of high for that type of stone. I see you''re in Vancouver & dont know any jewelers out there. There is a place here in Woodbridge, Ontario called Frank Damiani Jewellers, I think its www.damianijewellers.com. They have a diamond inventory & there''s an Si-2, G, around 1.22 thats $7080. For a few hundred more you get bigger size & better colour. Keep looking around if you''re not sure, but if that sparkle has you beat already, then buy it & enjoy it!

You know what, they have a GIA 1.02, SI-2 G listed for $6100 (excellent cut). You need to scroll down the entire inventory list.
