Hi!

I''m in the market to purchase a diamond for an ering. I wanted to get your opinion on my potential diamond (see below for details). Apparently, the diamond retails for $5,175.00. My price: $2,75.00.

What do you guys think? Would I be paying too much?

Shape: Round
Weight: 0.709
Clarity: SI2
Color: E
Measurements: 5.74 - 5.77 x 3.43 mm
Table: 61
Depth: 59.5999984741211
Crown Angle: 33
Pavillion Angle: 40.8
Culet: NONE
Girdle: SLIGHTLY THICK, FACETED
Polish: VERY GOOD
Symmetry: VERY GOOD
Fluorescence: FAINT
Total Visual Performance: Excellent

I found a comperable one in searching for 1764.00, online. If this is in a retail store, it would most likely be higher, and that difference would not be unheard of.

I think you could do a little bit better in cut though. Depth is ok, and can go to 62. Try to keep the table at 54-58 range. Also, try to keep crown angle closer to 34, up to 41.

Thanks for the advice. I''m shopping around a little more to see what I can get...I will definiately be in touch.

Should be, crown angle 34-35. Sorry!

And obviously no one else reads my posts.

With 12,000+ posts under your belt Ellen, there''s little to no point in me checking your numbers... you and Lorelei are up on my PS Experts pedestal!

Aw, lol, thank you Cleo. But uh, maybe it wouldn''t hurt. Although I''m not aware of me flubbing things like this too often, who knows?!

I wasn''t going to say anything, but since you caught your mistake, I just wanted to point out that pavilion is spelled with one "L".

This is really interesting. I read that, and I was like, really? So I searched my spelling on here, and came up with pages of threads. So then I searched one l, same thing. I guess I read more things with two l''s. and didn''t catch things with one. So then I looked it up in the dictionary. lol You are correct, thanks for saying something. Learn something new every day.

You know what - I was all ready to say it was one of those American/English differences... like colour/color... but you are totally right.

Sitting here with the Oxford English Dictionary on my lap... and I am quite shamed into saying that you are absolutely correct. You know what? I HATE spelling things wrong!! Arrrgh!

Pavilion it is from now on...

Thankyou!

So do I. And the ONLY thing that makes it not quite so bad, is that so many others have too. lol Still, I can''t believe I''ve done that all this time and no one said anything.

Ok, I can believe it in a way, because this board is very polite about those things, but I just can''t believe not one person said something, before now.
