I am so crazy for the finish on your ring, I log on just to admire it and dream about my own wedding band.

I have decided on satin/brushed from e-weddingbands.com, and hope it approximates the look of what you had done to yours. I guess.... I will leave my engagement ring in it''s 2.5mm solitaire setting as is -- high polish. But I do believe my emerald cut will look sharp against the matte finish of the wedding band.

My question is -- you have had this finish done recently -- 4 months or so, according to the posts. I wondered, given the things you do daily, how that finish has held up? I have a beadblast finish on a silver ring, and when I wore it regularly, I had to have it re-blasted a couple of times in a couple of years.

But... yours is platinum, yes? I am anxious to know how that gorgeous matte finish is holding up through your daily routine. I want mine to look just like yours! I rarely see any other rings or sets that I slobber over, because I do love my ring, but I love love love how yours looks with that finish. I hope e-weddingbands can do as good a job on my wedding band. I don''t mind having it re-done once in a while if necessary, but would like to know your experience with it.

just call me ring-stalker,

Hi Njo!

First of all, THANKS! Your comments are sweet....so let me answer these great questions...

When I had the satin polish done, I asked the jeweler what finish is more high maintenance...satin or polished. She said they are equal to each other...both need maintenance if you want to maintain a perfect finish. So the satin finish definitely needs upkeep...since I got the finish changed I have had it redone twice at the jewelers, but only because I was there for other reasons and they offered. The ering finish stays pretty perfect on the top half because it doesn''t spin...the wedding band tends to lose its finish all over more because it does spin.

But an easy fix! I just started this and can''t believe it! Learned it on PS from some expert. Buy the green flat Scotch Brite scouring pads from the grocery store. Gently brush it against the ring and in a few strokes it looks just like it did on Day One. I even "matted" a high polish ring all by myself!

Don''t forget, the change from high polish to matte can be done easily, and it is completely reversible. If you want to try, you can always change back!

Have fun...I LOVE the matte.

If you decide you want to satin finish your e-ring it is really cheap too. I think it was $8 to do my DH''s wedding band.

well, thanks to this, there''s not a polished ring in my house anymore! Actually, I took the Scotch brite and did some plain silver bands, as well as the fake e-ring I used to wear when I didn''t want to be hit on. I scotched ''em up and they all look fabulous, and really great next to my diamond! I did everything but the new engagement ring. I could see the fiance looking twitchy as I was going after everything with a vengeance...I think i will leave the e-ring polished for now, but definitely can''t wait to get the comfort fit heavy band in 4mm or 5mm, brushed finish. Wedding''s not til January, but I want my band today! He''s getting a titanium from Boone if he ever settles on one that he likes two weeks in a row, so many gorgeous choices there -- and his will be brushed, too, so I sort of like the idea of almost-matching.

Thanks for the tip, I even freshened up a beadblast burnish-set diamond ring of mine, one of the non-junk pieces I grabbed. Looks great. wow.
