Hi everyone-

I''ve been lurking around here for a few weeks and I''m ready to start really looking at stones. What I''d like is an asscher roughly 1ct. , vs1 or better, with h or better color. My budget is ~4500(though I could go up to 5k for the right stone). Here are a few that I''ve been looking at:

Do any of these look particularly promising? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Adam

I like the look of the first James Allen....the 1.05ct H VS1. I personally, as an owner of a 1.05ct asscher that s D vvs2, would not pay for that clarity again. I''d go for the VS1 or vs2. My dream is actually an eye-clean SI-1. It took my master appraiser fifteen excruciating minutes to find one of my two pinpoints at 50x magnification. She NEVER found the second, even using the GIA clarity plot as a guide. That is sooooo overkill!

the 1.05 has nice spread, it seems, and the numbers look good. But the others look nice too...

PICTURES! WE NEED PICTURES!!!

Just my 0.02....
I just bought one myself 0.91 F VS1.
All I can say is you need to see asschers. They are a very personal stone.
I like the 1st one from WF and the 1st one from JA the best....just my opinion
Some people don''t like H in an asscher.
Also VVS seems cost more and there is really no need to have vvs unless you want it.
As almost everyone on his site says stay with VG and up on polish and sym, and VS2 and up.
You may want to look a little below 1ct too....some good deals out there.
Do a search for depth and table, Storm has some good guidelines for those in his posts.

We got our 1.29ct from GOG not too long ago. It is I in color, and VS2. Honestly, if you want a particular size VS2 in an asscher is perfectly fine as long as the inclusions are not dark. I am also of the school of thought why pay for what you can't see. I was a little leary on going I color, but I'll tell ya this puppy is blindingly white! Cut is always paramount but it is of utmost importance in an asscher because the particular shape is less forgiving than others. We bought ours sight unseen but of course eagle eye PSers and of course (Storm) resident asscher guru approved it via pix and numbers. Also, I relied heavily on Jonthan's expertise. GOG is known for consistently providing beautiful fancies esp asschers. Best of luck to you!

I''ll call tomorrow to get close up pics of the stones. Is there anyone in particular at james allen that I should talk to?

3rd no pictures, table too big and off square.

need pictures.

The 2 that need pictures look good by the numbers and worth getting pictures of.

The first one you requested pics of(865151) is no longer available. Jim at JA already sent me a scan of the GIA report for 772747 and I will get pics of that one as well.

Sorry it''s so big but I wanted it to be legible.
I also found this one at UD: http://www.uniondiamond.com/diamonds/diamonds.php?search_type_id=2&action_type_id=2&item_id=AA224086&&1.05ct-H-VVS2-Asscher-Cut-Diamond
and this one at diamondring.com: http://www.diamondtalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71023&highlight=asscher

Thanks again,
