Ok, now I have my ring and love it but It really doesn''t match my original band. I will be wearing it on the other hand but need a replacement band for my left hand... I do not like it too matchy matchy. I am almost thinking of a plain wg band with milgrain edge but also like these. What do you think? Any suggestions are welcome,
Thanks in advance!
Here is a picture of the ring, it is 2.3 mm wide.

I really like this one

Or this beauty from WF.??

Since your ring is so different, I would strongly suggest trying a bunch of bands like this on before you buy one. I think it might look odd since your ring looks like a shared prong eternity and you''re looking at pave with a milgrain edge.

Just my opinion...but I don''t know if I would love any of these with your ering, I think it might be too distracting.

These from WF don't look like they have milgrained edges in the picture like the others do. I really like milgraining and having it would keep your bands from looking matchy, but IMO these would look the better (and still not too matchy). Also, the milgrain may get worn off by your ering. Not 100% sure but that is something to consider. I totally agree with NeatFreak...try on as many in person as possilble!

I have an opposite situation. My e-ring is pave and my w-band is shared prong. I chose this look because I also did not like the matchy look. I really love them together. Here is a pic. However, I now wear them on different hands because I don''t like the idea of them rubbing together.

Thanks neat freak, that is why I am askinf for opinions...Shall I stick to just plain milgrained band then?

It''s hard to say without seeing them together. Maybe someone with photoshopping skills can merge them together so we can see what each option looks like? I would probably either go for another shared prong band myself OR a plain band...but that''s just me!

How do you feel about hand engraved bands laetitiamurray?
I will photoshop your first band for you in a min

Yes, I was looking at some of those too. I like the vintage feel to them. It would be interesting to see! Thanks so much!

I would love to see that!!! Your ring is gorgeous, btw...

I love the bands that you are considering, they are very similar to mine

I have tried every pave band under the sun and did not like the pictures. See please on this picture why: i used one of your great photos from the other thread to illustrate that IF you go with diamond set band it has to be a prong set as your e-ring or special order. because all the thin pave bands are much flatter. And it''s not pretty.
Now, if you like engraved bands, even though they might be flatter than your e-ring too, they would NOT look "we did try to fit in but fail". Because it''s completely different design it''s ok that they are different height.

if you find an engraved bands you like i will make a photoshop, they can even have some diamonds, just not the eternity way, just mho.

I totally agree with Irina... I don''t like the look either...that''s what I was thinking too about the different look of the prong set vs. pave.

But I think an engraved band would look nice, or even just a plain one!

I would definitely go try on some rings if you don''t like the matchy matchy look. As others have noted, I would still get a band with a similar height and width so that it goes together best. How do you feel about colored stones? A shared prong band with sapphires or something would be beautiful!

Hi Laetitia,

How high does your ering sit up off of your finger? Irinia has a good point about the thinnner/shorter bands looking odd. You should probably look for a high dome / 3/4 round (as opposed to half round) or a thick pipe-cut band. It is hard to find these chunky styles on thinner bands sometimes, so here is a pic of some stack rings from the company I had make my Micky Roof website though, if you want to see more styles and I think there are endless possibilities as far as patterns go. Plus, if you like milgrain edges you can pick the coarsness to suit your style. I picked out the tiniest milgrain and I love it!

Hope that helps ya

Wow..Thank you all so much! I did find this one thast I love thanks to LINB (love in bloom). It looks so unique and diferent, not something you would see everywhere! It also seems to be high enough to deal with that height problem of the shared prong. I did measure my ring and it is appr. 2.1 mm off of my finger. If I could see a photoshop with this band (#910) that would be awesome! Thanks again for all of your help and input!

You are welcome Laetitia! I just happened to call Van Craeynest because I am working on a top secret wedding project with them (in the works for a while now; I will be sure to post after the whole thing is done

)...anyway, I actually remembered to ask, and bangle 910 sits up about 2mm high. I think that would look perfect because even if the ~0.1mm is noticeable (doubt it would be though), it would be better to have the band just the tiniest bit lower than your diamnds on your ering so they pop

DO you happen to know their appr. prices? I really like that band!

I haven''t a clue. I am also not sure how to PM, but if you know how, I will give you an idea on the price of my wedding band. Your best bet would be to call Van Craeynest directly. They are on the west coast (San Francisco) and I think their hours are 8-4 (I live in the midwest so there is a 3 hour time difference).

I just called them, they are sending me a ''sample'' for me to try in yello gold..Then if I like it, they can basically make it however high or thick I want..Awesome! He said it should be $1000, is that about right? I don''t know that company at all. Thanks again for your help,
Laetitia

Great idea! these bands are really cool, and how nice you can "test drive" one! Post some pics when you get it and we''ll see it if looks good with you e-ring.

That is great Laetitia! Did you talk to Larry? He is so helpful and funny! I had never heard of Van Craeynest either before I saw them at the Clay Pot (go Brooklyn!) and their pieces really are unique. I'm glad to find someone else that enjoys their work enough to consider buying...I feel like it helps keep these almost 'dead jewelry arts' alive. I think you will be amazed at the details in person. Do you have a loupe? It may come in handy...and don't forget to post pics when you get the sample

They are all gorgeous bands! I can''t wait to see what the sample looks like with your ring!

Yeah! I really really like it! Thank you for the visual!! How do you do that? Magic?
36.gif
I really like how different it looks from anything i've seen!

It looks great!!

Soooo much nicer than the pave!!!! Love it.
