Yes, i''m crazy... cant decide between 2 Asschers.

Sooooo, i still really like the 2 stones I have on hold with blue nile and it''s driving me nuts that i cant see pictures. (Asshers) Is it crazy to buy both and then be able to see them in person and then return the one I dont choose?

LOL.... please say no. The crappy thing is that I''d have to pay duty as i''m in Canada... not sure what money i wouldnt be able to recover.

Actually, I bought two diamonds and returned the one I liked least when I bought a round.
I didn't have to pay duty though.

I got the stone back before the return deadline and the money back into my credit card account before I had to pay interest on it.
(I had to time it based on my credit card's billing cycle.)
So, I was out about $100 for round trip shipping for one stone.
Still, it was worth it to me to be more sure of what I got.

I carried both of them around Los Angeles and compared them to local stones.
It was VERY informative.

LOL - i think i have you beat on the "crazy". I''m willing to fly down to the states for the day to have it shipped to a location there so i wont pay duty.

Rent some mopeds and drink lots of rum on the beach while laying in a hammock under a palm tree.

2 other options
have them sent to an appraiser for pictures

Take them off hold and have a full service PS vendor get them in for pictures and see if they will price match.
That will cost you ~$60 in shipping on the returned diamond you don't buy.

either is cheaper than paying import duty.

Buying an asscher online without pics is a high risk gamble.

HI:

No "duty"only taxes (GST, PST). Refunding your taxes is relatively straight forward as long as you have the correct application/douments for refund and original receipts.

I cant make specific recommendations but it is a case by case decision if they can or not.
Since they offer far more services that cost them money sometimes they cant.
It depends on how high the BN markup is over what they can get it for.
Reading other threads will tell you who the top asscher dealers are, contact them and ask.
