DW acquired her yellow sapphire pendant about a year ago and has been looking for a matching ring ever since. Recently Amy at DKJ put us in touch with a vendor who had made an estate purchase of just such ring. When we first went to see the ring DW's reaction was "Wow, it's incredibly beautiful, but I could never wear anything that big!".

We went back later in the day for a second look and the ring seemed to have shrunk some. DW grew more interested, but we had trouble taking photos because the sapphire reflected so much light, all that showed up on camera was a white blob. I took this photo of the ring on the vendor's hand with her other hand shading the stone from the overhead lights.

We thought about it overnight and I was able to research yellow sapphire pricing. The stone came with an AGL cert stating Ceylon, heat only, and the ring was definitely fairly priced. So we we went back the next day and, believe it or not, the ring had shrunk a whole more. DW tried it on under the lights, and outside in the sunshine, and the stone just sparkled continuously, almost like a diamond only bigger
I don't know if this gemstone shrinking thing is a common phenomenon with PSers, but it certainly happened to us
Of course DW went home with the ring!
The ring comes with a halo of marquise diamonds set in an interesting pattern I don't recall seeing here before. Here are a few photos:
