Tomorrow, January 28, is Chinese New Year!

Will you be celebrating the Year of the Rooster?

Happy New Year to all of you! :wavey:

I read that its not good when the year is the same as your sign.
As a Fire Rooster, I choose not to believe that. But I'll watch my step, just in case. ;))

Happy Chinese New Year!
December-fire, I certainly hope being a Fire Rooster brings you great luck this year and Tai Sui focuses on all the other roosters.

Does that mean we eat chicken for dinner to celebrate?

Thanks, Matata! :))

Seems that there are a few things I can try to drive away bad luck, such as wearing red that has been given to me:

Wearing Red — Drive Away Bad Luck

Red is one of the luckiest colors in Chinese culture, standing for prosperity, loyalty, success, and happiness. Red can drive away bad luck and evil spirits.

Therefore wearing red during your zodiac year will bring you good luck and give you a good year. You can wear a red belt, red socks, red shoes, or red clothes, and red underwear is highly recommended during your zodiac year.

However, there is a rule that you need to pay attention to, or the red won't ward off bad luck. You cannot buy, for example, the red underwear yourself. It should be bought by a spouse, family member, or friend.

Besides wearing red, you can also wear jade accessories during your zodiac year to ward off bad luck, like pendants, earrings, rings, and bracelets.

Quick! Someone give me rubies! :))

Meanwhile, I'll try to keep a low profile. :shifty:

Pinto, you naughty girl! I should have declared this a 'politics-free zone', but my mind isn't as quick or creative as your's and I didn't see the potential dangerous detour this thread could take!

Wishing you a fabulous, sparkly Year of the Rooster! :wavey:
