Two, very different diamonds. I personally like the Princess cut, but the GF is very active and I''m a little worried about the possiblility of it being chipped.

Also, I like two different settings for each cut. I prefer a setting with channel set side diamonds with a Princess and a Solitaire setting with the round (Tiffany style 6 prong). Both will be Platinum rings.

Anyway, feedback on these two stones & rings will be appeciated.......

What does she like. Round or Princess. They are very different, and not many people love both. I love a round, do not like princess. Admit I am intrigued by the X-factor.

This will be HER ring; right?

Get some idea as to her preference. She''s the one who has to wear it every day for the rest of her life. make sure she likes the cut. As to which I would chose of the above, I LOVE a round and I do NOT like a princess. HTH

Also consider that Princess cuts face up smaller than a RB of the same weight. In other words it will look smaller cause it weighs the same but has a smaller diameter.

But what she likes is what matters.

I'm a relative newbie (especially to posting), so take this with a grain of salt, and experts please feel free to put me in my place:

I think that both look like very good stones, IS and ASET look good on both, and they score 1.2 and 1.9 on the HCA, respectively.

Assuming both are eye-clean, I think the H/SI1 is a better choice overall. You get a little more size, closer to a "2" on the HCA, and the strong blue will likely help the H stone face up very white, along with a really nice effect in sunlight (see ILikeBond's strong blue round in a recent thread).

So, as long as the strong blue does not have a negative effect and is eye-clean (WF will answer both of those questions for you), I would go with the H/SI1.

I agree!
