It was fun to actually be in the city winning for once instead of watching my Sox win from far away.

Yeah I REALLY wanted this. Thanks!! It''s so important for our city. It''s huge.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We were just out on Broad Street and it''s INSANE!! What a happy city!!!

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The people are going crazy in the streets. I am in the burbs ( but born and raised in Philly ) and there are fireworks and horns honking. It is going to be a huge celebration... My wedding is 11 days away, so we are going to have a Phillies / Eagles Over flow party..

congrates

Woo hoo!

Random side note: I met Jayson Werth once when he was back home (Springfield, IL) and injured. I told him that I didn''t believe he was a baseball player and might have joked that he must not be very good - it was a bachelorette party on a boat in the middle of Lake Springfield, so I had every right to be a little doubtful.. Oooops! Glad he and his team did a great job tonight! Yay for the Phillies! :)

Yay for the team! 1980 and 2008 has some numeralogical significance maybe?

I am so glad we won, our fans here are SO devoted and always get hurt. I am just thrilled for them and glad there will be no game on the night of my son''s bar mitzvah!!!!!

YAY!!!!

Just came back from Broad. The air was filled with alcohol. Guys were climbing the lights. At least 10 guys were on the patio roof of the Italian restaurant at Broad and Walnut. FUN FUN!!

I think I am still in shock! So awesome! We went down to Cottman and Frankford. Fireworks and Brotherly Love!

Congrats to all the Philly fan''s!!!

YEAH PHILLIES!!! I am also in the ''burbs but it was absolutely insane (in a good way) - people in the streets, honking horns and high fiving ever where you went.

DF - I''ve heard the whole numbers bit of ''80 vs. ''08 and it got me thinking about the pitcher that saved each game - Tug McGraw (#45) in ''80 and Brad Lidge (#54) in ''08. Meant to be!

How about William Penn came here october 29, whatever year and we won the World series on October 29. Makes you go hmmm. Kinda cool.

Ashley my DD who goes to Penn went to celebrate on Broad street. They were at a party downtown anyway, and loved the celebration. I am glad she shared her enthusiasm with me today, as if I had known she was there last night I would have been worried. But that''s just me as a Mom. I can''t control anything anymore, LOL., She said it was a blast. So good for her, and all those crazy kids!! I liked watching it from the safety of my warm cozy home, LOL!! I am getting old!!!

I didn''t know that about William Penn - cool! Glad your DD had a great time at the parade. BF and I made it down there also and it was a wonderful day despite waiting over three hours to take Septa into the city from the ''burbs

After the crazy weather we had earlier that week, it turned out to be a picture perfect day for celebrating!

SEPTA was insane yesterday...I was one of the few people who actually went to class yesterday, and I might as well have walked to school. Actually, since the downtown stations were closed for awhile and they kicked us off the train at a stop further out, I practically did. It sounds like people taking Regional Rail had it worse, though! But the city had such a great vibe, it just felt really happy -- so un-Philly-like and heartwarming!

I felt really bad for those that normally take the trains/subway for work or school. There was one woman on my regional rail train that was going to work and it was nearly 11:30 by the time we arrived into Philly. Her boss had told her just to get there whenever she could. But you''re right - it was a great vibe in the city yesterday so the good definitely outweighed the bad!

It was nice to have something sports related to celebrate, we are often the bridesmaid and never the bride. It is so great to win something finally!!!!

Just saw this post.... WOO HOO!!!! I am SO ecstatic. Been to about 10 Phils games this year. Livinthedream, we also celebrated the win at Cottman & Frankford (I live a block away from there)... it was absolute madness! People dancin in the street, shooting champaigne in the air, fireworks, celebrating like crazy! Then FI and I went down to the Linc for the parade. My brother also had tix for the Linc, but he was on Broad St and decided to sell them to some random guy for a bottle of vodka! LOL.

YAY PHILLIES!!!
We were on Broad by Dickinson. We walked FOREVER, but it was worth it to meet up with my nephew and see his face during the excitement. I got some good pics! I''ll have to post when I get them uploaded. I did hear someone trying to sell their Cit Bank tickets when we were closer to Ind Hall. God only knows how long it would have taken then to get down there! haha

WOW! He got almost $3000 so far. That''s a shame, though. I don''t understand why people have to rob/destroy/loot/vandalize... it gives the rest of us a bad rap!

Another side note... FI and I made some signs to take up to Frankford & Cottman for the win. FBIL had one and a press guy snapped a pic of him, and now his pic is all over the internet! Crazy...
