Yay or nay? - 1.17 Carat E-SI2 Ideal Cut Round Diamond

Hi All,

I pulled the trigger on James Allen this diamond today:







Now, being SI2, is not 100% eye clean... however I had to compromise somewhere to go slightly over the 1ct while keeping the stone at around $6k.

I'm looking forward to receiving it and looking at it mounted on the solitaire setting - if I'm not 100% happy I can always return it.

What are your expert comments on it?

I rather compromise on the color than it not being totally eye clean.

Perhaps an F or G with VS2 or eye clean SI1?

Most of the SI1 around that ct in G were over $7k...I didn't want to spend that much when I have to add a quality setting.

I'm hoping that the inclusions are not as visible to the naked eye...

This looks pretty decent too... HCA score of 1.5 and table is clean. FYI.

Thanks for that Maximus, I decided to stick with JA as I think they provide better customer service (I'm based in Australia).

Sure. Can't say I would recommend Blue Nile after what they did to me! Haha.

But make sure you do a test here to get the HCA score before you decide.
