Bump!!

So, I see it is snowing!! My plane leaves in the a.m. I hope I don''t get bumped back. I don''t want to miss the hosted steak dinner tomorrow night. Boo...

I am having a ridiculous time packing.

Excuse me.... what mean GTG please?

Safe flight Miracles! This weather isn''t so fun

For everyone who checks this thread but doesn''t check where we''re planning the actual details, please do so!

Sylvie - GTG means get together. A bunch of Pricescopers in a given area (in this case in and nearby Chicago) meet up for lunch and, in our case, a trip to the Field Museum''s Diamonds Exhibit.

Just wanted to pop in and say DARN I am going to be in Chicago next weekend! Although I did already go
to the diamond exhibit and I will say, I was impressed...

BEG: It''s not like I love to fly in the best of weather, so this stuff just makes me more anxious. I will be soooooo excited when I get there, but so Zanaxed up until I hit Terra Firma once again.

It''s pouring down rain right now. Snow actually sounds like a pleasant change. Except that VA stuff....that looks ca-raaaaaaazie!!

ooooh, I love Asschers....so it''s good?!?!?! I can''t wait to see the exhibit. Actually, I am more excited just to hug Haven and the other PS''ers.

Oh warning. I''m a hugger...like...OMG, it''s so great to see you Hugger. Just give me the hand if you are Hug-averse.

Sylvie, GTG=get-together, or meeting. Je parle francais un peu, mais dommage, je suis desolee!

I won''t be attending the GTG after all, sorry everyone. I don''t find the 4.5 hour drive pleasant in fair weather, let alone with all this snowy weather we''ve had. Just don''t want to risk it since I would''ve been traveling alone. Hope you all have a blast and can''t wait to see pics! Enjoy!

Awww... Miracles, I love huggers! I''m hoping to make it to my first GTG Sat. I''d love to meet some fellow PS''ers after all these years (even thought I''m mostly a lurker).
36.gif

Oh, boooooo Monarch. But I feel ya. I wouldn''t drive 4.5 hours to see anyone except my Grand daughter. Strike that. I would move to any destination my daughter lived in just so I didn''t have to travel more than 20 minutes to see her.
31.gif
I am going to miss getting the chance to meet you though.

I just hope my plane makes it to Chicago. So far it isn''t canceled, but it may be in the morning. That would actually annoy me now, because I have spent a boatload of time agonizing over what I will wear, pack, etc. (and agonizing a lot of other people too). I think I have 4 different scarves in my suitcase. Why? Is that really necessary? Of course not. But the good news is...I don''t need to obsess over my costume jewelry anymore. Niiiiiiiice.

All I know is that one of the girls who lent me some sweaters uses some amazing Bounce or places dryer sheets in her storage bin because I smell awesome from trying her stuff on.

Yayaya portia. I''m so glad you are still able to make it. Cross your fingers for me. I need a travel angel.

Yay so glad you're coming Portia!

Miracles, I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for ya! Are you flying into Midway or O'Hare?

Monnie,

Well, I just peeked outside (I live downtown) and I don''t see any more snow so hopefully it''s clearing up for you Miracles. Fingers crossed!

BEG, can''t wait to meet you and hear all your kitty tales (no pun intended) lol

Thanks for understanding, Miracles. I am sincerely going to miss meeting you as well. I hope that everything works out with your flights and that you stay warm enough--I don''t worry too much about that though, the Chicago PSr''s will make sure you are warm and comfy! Have a wonderful Chicago trip and be safe.

Yayayayayaa, I.m here !!! I walked all the way to my hotel from Union Station because I wanted to experience the Metra....Note to anyone else who desiires to do the same....There is a reason that the seats across from the lavatory and next to trash can are vacant. yeah, that would be me. On the other hand...we just loved the fact that we saw an actual real life train conductor. Awesome. We have just pigged out on trufflle chips at the bar and will be pigging out on pizza in less that an hour. I can''t wait to see everyone. It''s beautiful here. I love Chicago.

Ok everyone who has expressed interest should know where the details for this GTG are. If you don''t and you are interested, please contact Ella.

For those who don''t know, we ARE meeting up this Saturday at 11:30, but I''ll keep the place undisclosed on this thread. So if you want to come, you know where to look (or who to ask)!

And Miracles, WELCOME! Looking forward to seeing you!

Miracles, please please try Garrett''s popcorn. There are 4 locations downtown. It''s the best thing EVAR. (Ever intentionally misspelled.) Ask for the mini-mix. You will NOT be sorry.

YES. Ohhh the Garrett''s caramel popcorn...heaven in a bag. Yum.

Wow, this caramel popcorn must be incredible, because this is the 4th time I''ve been urged with passion to eat it....so now I can''t resist it.l

OhhMmmGee, I just got the Garretts carmel corn. That IS wicked good stuff. I had to give it away or I would have eaten the whole bag, even though it was a small bag, it was HUGE. I am glad i don''t know the fat or sugar content. Hmmm, Hummmmmm Good.

What''s everyone wearing? Jeans? Not Jeans? Whats the buzz?

I''ll be in dress slacks and shirt. Perhaps a tie.

But you gals dress as you please.

Perry

Oh, Garrett''s carmel corn! Yum! I can''t go near the stuff... I eat it ALL! lol

Awww... you all are gonna have so much fun! I''m not sure I''ll be able to make it, but if something changes with work tomorrow morning, I''ll know when are where you''ll all be for lunch (if I can be a ''walk-in'').

Miracles, it''s delicious isn''t? I may have to get some after our GTG
3.gif

Portia, I''ll see if I can get the mods to give you my contact info in case you want to drop in. I hope you''ll be able to make it!

And I will be in jeans, shirt, brown Uggs and my big black North Face jacket (not that that''ll help much with identifying me from any other person walking Chicago''s streets, lol).

I''ll be on the way soon, and will be able to provide transportation for up to 4 others to the museum.

I''m wearing grey slacks (I think) and a blue shirt (no tie). Tan Trenchcoat jacket (if you see me with it on).

Browneye''d; are you going to make reservations for "Pricescope"

I''m leaving my idealscope, ASETscope, loupe, etc behind.

See ya all there,

Perry

Hey Perry! Have a safe trip!

I''m not entirely sure how many people are coming - I think 5 are confirmed? But so many others expressed interest and I have no idea, so I''m not sure if I should make reservations or not.

I had a great time at the GTG, everyone! It was so nice to meet you all.

I had a great time meeting everyone!! I don''t think we would have made it into the Museum even if we tried. My friends were there and ttold me the Diamond Exhibit was SOLD OUT!! They told me they saw a ton of women in wedding dresses. I just laughed and told her it was a good thing we didn''t try to get there since we didn''t have advance tickets purchased.

I just got back from a wonderful dinner and would have froze if it wasn''t for my new head cap from Haven! I love it!! Thank you Sweetie.

BEG: We almost went to La Colonial but we only had 2 outta 3 "affirmatives" so we went Italiian. It was really good too. We have more homeless people in sunny San Diego. It''s hard to find homeless people in Chicago so you can share your leftovers. Maybe it''s just the cold weather. Too bad...because this lobster alfredo pasta stuff is wicked.good and we don''t know what to do with our leftovers. ::::heavy sigh::::: I want to feed someone.

It was great meeting everyone who was there (including the couple that showed up).

Long drive for me - but worth it.

Hope to see you all at a future gem show (then some of you can spend some of that hard earned $$$ you all have).

Here is the link: http://www.intergem.com/

Milwaukee is April 23-25 (this is a much smaller show than Chicago) - but I''ll take a friend and her kids so they can buy stuff for home made jewelry that the kids love to do.

Chicago is May 14-16

St Paul is June 4-6

For other locations check out the schedule

Sorry I couldn''t make it up there yesterday. When I called DH as I was about to leave for Chicago in the morning, he panicked and asked me to stay home for a V-day delivery. I didn''t have the heart to leave the flowers sitting outside to freeze. I hope you will all understand. I''m just disappointed I missed the chance to meet all you ladies (and perry) in person. Bummers! I think I at least owe you a picture of the culprit flowers, so I''ll try to post some tonight.

Miracles, I hope you have a good flight back to SD. I know you won''t be missing the cold much!

This was an excellent time - can''t wait for the next Chicago GTG!
